GP Synapse question
Hi, if you have a Synapse, I'd appreciate your help. I got one and went to "set it up" today.
According to the instructions, just about the only thing that needs to be done other than balance and throws are to remove the screws in the fan unit and add threadlock. While I don't understand why they wouldn't just use threadlock when they built it, I accept there might be some mechanical reason I don't know. I am rarley inclined to use expletives, but I can't get the !%#%# screw to budge at all. ANY chance it already has threadlock on it? I am going to email GP tomorrow, but thought Id see if anyone else had this 'problem'. I imagine with enough force I would get something to move, but given how hard I was cranking on it I have no idea what is going to give first if I keep trying. thanks~ YOLT |
RE: GP Synapse question
The way I look at it, the point of the thread locker is to keep the screw from coming out. If the screw won't come out, thread locker is redundant, right?

RE: GP Synapse question
yes and no, the first screw has to come out so that other screws can be accessed for the same reason. I don't want to assume the internal screws are also safe just because this one isn't going anywhere.
thanks~ |
