Prop and Battery Advice

Hi Team,

Here's the scenario - I have a scale model plane (electric phoenix tucano) weighing in at 550 - 620grams, 21-22oz (according to the box it came in, not sure if this is with flight gear installed) I have this motor/battery/esc combo on hand - Eflite 450 890 kv Motor, two 2100mah 20C 2S 7.4v lipo (Flightpower brand) and a 25amp Venom brand ESC.

Questions:
- What size propellor would you all recommend for this plane?

- Would i be better off to go to 11.1v 3S packs as I believe the motor can handle these?

Really just looking for the best battery and prop combinations for this motor, any advice would be greatly appreciated.

Cheers.

You'll definitely want to go 3S, because you won't get any usable power out of a 2S pack on that motor.

Eflite includes example configurations in their instructions. For example, they call for a 10x8 or 10x7 with a 3S 2100mAh pack on a Mini Ultra Stick, which is pretty much a generic sport plane.

Thanks for the reply Matt, would you be talking about Slow Fly props 10 x 8 or 10 x 7 or the normal Electric style prop?

You will want the "E" electric style prop. if you choose a 10x7 or 10x8.
