WOW, the only ultra micro I'll dare to fly in 10mph winds are the Beast and the Sbach. And you're flying the Extra. Nice video, good control, but trust me, you'll love it sooooo much with no wind at all!Welcome to the club! That's truly a great plane!

Thanks Real Gambler!! I live in an area where the wind can be tough. So I learned to use the windI had the P-51 in heavier wind, the video is on my youtube channel. I flew 10 batteries so far today, and shot 2 videos. One good one and one OK one. Here's the good one. Today was fairly windless, so I got to trim the plane out. I am now at 100% rates. Next up is to find the side generators and give them a whirl.

For those of you that are not clear on how I set up videos, I will give you 2 options, BOC which is a full screen version just how I set it up. The other will be Youtube, which reprocesses for a small screen and then stretches the video.

Nice video. Still a bit windy though, so you're not experiencing the real Extra yet!

Isn't it great to be able to hover late in flight? Ihave not tried the SFGs yet, mostly because it's doing KEs so well, but I've recently tried the SFGs on my UMX Sbach, and now, I'm tempted to try them on the Extra...

RG, if I wait for no wind, I will only fly at dawn. I live on an estrurarial plain just north of Cape Mendocino. Wind off the Pacific is the norm. I live in a bit of a box canyon so the next vid is from there and with full rates.

Here's an aerial view of my field. The next Extra vid will be processing shortly.

Extra 300 Video from yesterday afternoon. This was primarily of full rates. after takeoff you can hear the switches go. I toggled the ailerons between 85 and 100% a couple of times.

Think twice before using the side force generators.

Wow, I never flew with the SFGs but somehow feel there must have a been a bit of previous damage no?. That wing broke way too easily...   Nothing major though, I'm sure you'll be flying again in no time.   After crashing it too often, added a very small carbon rod on the wing on mine. Basically, going from where they embedded one, almost to the fuselage.  Just glued it in place, didn't use tape.

That was it's first break and it was a clean break. I just used a little Scotch gift tape and I am about to fly it some more. Without the side force generators.

I flew one flight and everything was good. So I was going to video flight two. Not so good, I broke the prop shaft[:'(][X(]. I looked around and found the prop, but do I want to figure out extraction etc? And with no LHS, any real problems ground a plane for a while[] So I pulled out my micro prop bag. Te first thing I found was a matching prop and when that did not have enough threading to gain purchase, out came a 1.5 mm prop saver and a GWS 5043 prop. I ave a spare prop shaft that should work, but I wanted to try the experiment.

I video'd the first flight with the 5043. And by the end of the 4th battery I wasat a loss. At first the 5043 was not as good, by the last battery it seemed better. I may stick a 5030 on the plane just for grins, the stock prop is so slow that that shouldn't be a problem. The video will follow, but any thoughts?

I ran mine in winds to 10 mph. But I was in a wide open space. Out front, maybe 5-6 mph.
