Folks:
I've seen the soft foam tires/wheels in the Tower Hobbies catalog as an example, but wonder what's the protocol on putting bigger tires onto, specifically, a PZ micro? On my P51 and T28 I'm wanting to put bigger wheels/tires on them for my battlefield-condition landing strips, but wonder if I'll break the landing gear in the process. Source and procedure tips?
Your aid is needed for the war effort and I preemptively thank you.....Godspeed

Weight will be the biggest issue. If it were me, I would just make them. The stock PZ wheels that I've seen are just discs of foam with stickers for the hubs. Just find some soft light foam and cut it into small discs the size of the tires you want. Then cut some round dots out of tape or a spare sticker, and put them on the wheels. Either drill them in the center with a tiny bit, or push a hot pin through.
Breaking the gear shouldn't be a concern unless they're really heavy, and the plane probably wont fly then anyway.

I make tires for all my micro airplanes out of Depron foam. I use a circle template and cut out the size of tire I want out of 6mm or 9mm grey foam and use 1/16” aluminum tubing for an axle bearing. Using little circular paper/tape stickers on the side of the foam will give an even lighter tire. Tires made this way end up weighing less than half of any tires that I have found for sale.

Or if your lazy like me and don't want to make wheels, you can get slightly larger micro wheels. I have done if for my son's Champ but not any of my other birds because I mostly land in grass
The thing is to make sure you don't exceed the proper width or they won't fit.
I'll take a pic of it in a minute.

Guys, you are the best! Now I've got all these options I think I'll sleep on it. Just hesitant to pop off those little black retainer thingies without proper replacement, but you guys have given me plans for the way forward into the storm of battle where no prisoners are taken-alive, that is
.
