Default Ultrashort range w/************ Wright Flyer?

Has anyone flown GH's new 27mhz1903 Wright Flyer RTF? My initial controls check shows a Txrange of less than 20 feet, even w/Tx held over my head. Rx fully charged. Tx has strong batteries. Rx antenna appears normal. I smoothed it out& taped it to plane's frame, so it's pretty straight. Any suggestions how I might improve range w/o gutting electronics would be appreciated. Others w/this plane, please post your experiences w/range & flyingdetails. Thanks.

If you've checked every connection etc., then there is something wrong with the TX or RX. If it's new you should be able to get service or return it.

The little plastic box that holds the Rx & battery appears to be glued shut.  If I pry/cut it open to check for wiring problems, I'll void any warranty on the plane. Gravity Hobby's ad for the plane stated range was "10 m".  I thought that must be a typo.  I had never heard of  an FM Tx w/less than 100 foot range; even an indoor slowflyer. Now I'm beginning to think 10 meters was an exaggeration.

There must be something wrong, look at this video. This guy gets some decent range.
I wouldn't go flying this plane off too far anyway. Maybe fly it the length of a basketball court away and that's about it.
If the book or ad says 10 meters, then that is their insurance that no one will bother them about range issues

Thanks, Wheelnut.  I have been experimenting around after watching your video.  Plane gets much better range outdoors.  Apparently something inside my house interfers w/signal.  Even tho this plane may be designed mostly for gym flying, since it's too light to fly in any wind much, pilot must be very careful about interference issues, because Rx apparently has poor signal differentiation.
