Default UMX AS3Xtra Radio question

I was thinking about buying one of the E-Flight UMX AS3Xtra BNF planes and I had a couple questions. Can this plane be flown outdoors? I have an E-Flight LP5DSM radio and I was wondering if I can use it on this plane? On the specs it says that the radio must be a DSM2/DSMX and have dual rate options and I don't know if mine does.

Is this your radio?

There is no manual for that radio but they suggest looking in this manual for what info is available:

I see nothing about dual rates. I don't see mention of DSM2/DSMX, but I would expect it is one or the other, so it should work.

If you are planning to stay in the hobby you would be best served to move into a computer radio. The Spektrum DX6i or the newer DX6 (due out in May) would be good choices if you want to stay with Spektrum and HH BnF planes.

Standard radios like the one you have are fine for RTF single plane use but as you advance that radio will hold you back.

I would say give it a try. If it does not work for you then get the DX6i or wait for the DX6.
