Anyone made an indoor flyer out of those little tiny R/C cars that you can get at Wal-Mart for 10-12 bucks? Just a thought. Rudder/throttle types I mean.
I'm going to try it just for kicks.

Jetts,
Yes, there are people who have done that. Thet refer to them as 'bit planes' (after one of the cars called a bit charger).
They are usually stick and tissue, under 15 grams, and use the ZipZap motors & gears or tiny pager motors turning deep gearing (6:1 to 9:1 ratios) with hand-made props from carved balsa, yogurt cup or molded CF props; some have used the U-80 prop even though it is awefully heavy.
There are modifications you can do to the radio Rx to pump more power though to the motor. You can pump 9v to the Tx and add extensions to the Tx antenna to get more range.
There hasn't been much discussion here yet, so reluctantly I will suggest you look at this thread that collects all the interesting micro topics on another board: http://www.rcgroups.com/forums/showt...threadid=84771
scroll down to the "RC Car Conversions" heading, grab a cold one and read on...
