Here are a couple of pictures of my little P-38 at Big Spring last month. Richard Ng also had one flying on N-20 power. Rolls GREAT!

I took the easy, pretty and light way out to finish mine, as have others....Lefty Gardner's N25Y scheme.

The non flying shot shows my sub 4 oz micro fleet at Big Spring.

Greg, you might like my 3.3 oz Guillows foam Space Shuttle in the backgroud...flies great on GWS EDP50 power on 2 340 lipos.

Hi Thomas,

Great looking micro fleet! The Shuttle is pretty cute. I haven't seen that before. Are you mixing two actuators together as elevons on it?

What does the P-38 weigh with the N-20 power system?

My P-38 has been neglected as I am buried in other tasks. I did, however, purposely place it in plain site as a reminder to fix the banking issue and fly it on a calm summer day.

We've have had some surprisingly great weather in the North East this past week which allowed me to play catch up on much of my winter backlog of tests. I just purchased the new Graupner Mosquito so my passion for micro (or mini) flight still lives!

Thanks for the kind words, Greg.

As mentioned in a previous post, my P-38 with N-20s, Wattage Lightning props, 2S 250 lipo, GWS R4P rx and 2 BA 4.3 gr servos on ailerons and elevator weighs in at 2.6 oz. The weight is a non issue in a double gym. Lots of speed and power and does lovely rolls indoors.

The Shuttle is the 10" wingspan foam free flight toy that Guillows makes and distributes. It usually sells for 2.99 in toy, craft and hobby stores........it is 12.5" long. Mine weighs in at 3.3 oz with normal stuff....I like servos better than actuators.

I will post shuttle details in a separate post as to keep this thread from going too far off topic!

You echo not only my sentiments but also what I am seeing in the industry for most micro/mini flight enthusiasts. I have addressed this in my RIT Indoor event write-up which will be in Quiet Flyer in a few months.

We will see some incredibly small servos being introduced in 2005.

Thought i would try and bring this thread bacl to life. I recently got one of thies little things. I found some componets on hobby city that i thought would work. there is some B-less motors they have under 5 grams. A servo that wieghs 1 gram. How much does the stock motors weigh that come with the p-38? I will post the links to there products later. There website is down at the moment.

It seems a lot of the kits didnt end up coming with the stock motors, but I believe they were N20 motors, which weigh around 5 grams a peice. I got one last winter, no motors, still havent put it together. There have been a couple others finished not long ago over on RCG using ParkZone vapor gear, which is what I was leaning towards, with BL motors.

Hey fellas, I won one of these the other day. I am thinking ar6400 with an aileron servo and either vapor or cessna gearboxes.

Hi Fern,

I just finished one. Used a MicroInvent rx with two brushed speed controls and two Sukhoi motors direct drive with Tri-Turbo props from bsdmicrorc.com. I'm using one 300ma FullRiver cell. It seems to have plenty of power but it really needs an aileron or two to help the turns...but I'm trying to fly it indoors....I coupled one aileron to the rudder servo, we'll see how that works this weekend...good luck and keep us posted. It is a neat little model but a little heavy...
