Default Air Hogs Aero Ace

I want to buy an Aero Ace. I know that the local Wal-Mart has them and a friend of mine has just bought one. I was wondering what the best/cheapest mods you can do to these. I have noticed a few people talking about a different battery that they are putting in these and was wondering where to get it and if it can still be charged by the charger in the controler.

The first thing I did was to fly it right out of the box and it flew not to bad, then I took off the wing struts then added plastic push pin to the nose for a little added wieght flew much better. It flew very nice. Then I added a 15" length of speeker wire to the antena wrapped it around the boom from the tail to the fusalarge, the I had to add a little more wieght to the nose. I flew it like that for a long time. Then I took off the bottom wings, trimmed down the fusalarge where the wings where and smoothed it up, teh I took off the plastic push pin and replaced it with a tack. It now flys fast and nice. Didnt cut it open to move the batt. forward. It will even fly in a light breeze, but caution dont let it get to high or it could fly away. The batteries in the transmitter last about 8 to 10 recharges. I find that if I charge the plans battery and not fly it for two or three days I get a rather short flight and when I go to recharge the plan I get a short recharge where the flight will only last a couple of min. but the next recharge will charge the plans batt. all the way up.
Anyway it a very nice little toy for the front yard.

Go see monstermakers and my wheel mods on the "Aero Ace Mods" thread or on the regular (50+ page "Aero Ace" thread.

I got a cool mod for you. I cut the bottom wings off and foam safe CA glued them to the top wings for more wingspan, then for better turning I cut the wires on the motor and soldered longer wires to them and put them farther out on the wing.

How far from the fuselage should I put the motors with the extended wings?
