Default My X-twin was stuck in the AIR!!!

This morning i flew my x-twin on my street as usuall exept my x-twin kept on climbing to high then a huge gust came out of no where and took it really high, I turned of the power put it just kept on climbing. After a whole 10 mins in the sky it finely crashed in the neibours roof. I cant believe it a whole 10 mins!!!.

Great aerodynamics show, if it had poor aero I would probably hit you and put you in the hospital. However I would have been worrying the whole time.

I was just flying my Aero Ace and it would do the same thing. And that's with the lower wings removed and a penny taped to the nose. Turned off the throttle and still wouldn't come down.

Thermals can be a blessing or the end of your plane.
The one I got caught in once freaked me out because nothing I
did would make the plane come down. Finally after circling
around at about 80 feet it was like she was just spit out of
some turbulance and down she glided.

one of my fav aa's has one motor that is more powerful than the other but can still fly. if i turn too hard to the left it goes strait down.thats my protection against thermals. at a golf course near my house i got a 20min flight just gliding around and only using the motors to turn, it was about 100-200ft high. 20 mins!

That's the true art of flying the plane and not the controls. Being able
to turn the thermals to your advantage and use them to actually pilot the plane.
I don't have the experience yet for that- I was just happy to get the plane back.

He he,

musta been the weekend for it. I took my x-twin out to the park as it was a very rare day with no wind and off and up she went. Even with the motors off it kept gliding higher. At first it is funny, but when it starts to speck out you start to worry. I found throttling on and off only to turn it came down.

Sure looks cool up so high. Flys really well when there is no power and a slight breeze, the FF guys with their rubber band powered models were might impressed!

Now that we're getting some really hot days thermals will be popping up everywhere.
At one field where I fly I can notice an updraft coming off a wall of the building
nearby. Got too close to the wall and up she went.

Nup, I'm not clever enough to do that one. As mine seems to lose height in the turns I figured I'd just keep it turning. I just kinda 'pulsed' the throttle on for a second or so with the right stick held over the whole time. After a few goes it started to drop.

Being in the desert is perfect, anywhere I fly theres always a nice toasty parking lot.
The control line people hate me when i bring my Typhoon aroung though.
