I'm having troubles getting pics to upload and links to work on this forum.
Try it now... I copied & pasted this and avoided RCU's link.
The stuff you're looking for is a few pages back.

Hi,
Matt from syd, Australia here. I've had the 3d for a month now, and can relate to every1 here when they say they have troubles with the motor still running, and it being a lil difficult to fly etc. Though my problem now is I CANT charge it. I plug it in and the remote does not recognize the plane is plugge din for some reason and the green light just stays off. I've narrowed it down to the plane and not the remote as I tried with another 3d remote that does work with another. I'm wondering if it got water in it somehow and messed with the circuitry?!?!? Any suggestions? I don't wanna have to buy another one if possible...cheers...yipyiypip

I had the same problem. Occurred after I crashed it hard. I got a new one at TRU. There's plenty stock here in Hong Kong.

Does anyone know where the end of the antenna is for the Rx? I'm not sure where to start to dig it out...

heya.....as mines now stuffed, I thought Id pull it apart and try and salvage it. The antenna starts on the top left hand side of the rudder at the back. You'll need to lift off the sticker to access it. You can actually see it on the rudder if you look closely. I'll let you know how I go trying to fix it

You say affordable, well, until you buy 3 or 4 of them, now it's expensive, might as well get a "real" rc plane and do so much more with it, the fun increases exponentially in the process.

The radios on the toy's are one of the elements that bother me due to limitations on many levels, the lack of control, especially in the winds are what really made them difficult to handle, especially after having a few do a road trip without me due to radio interference and/or gusts driving them up into the thermals outside of radio range. They are one of those, well, it's good on one end and gets people flying RC that would never have before because they are so cheap, but on the opposite side of the coin, if this is what they think is acceptable for us regular RC guys, and they are turned off with the whole thing thinking this toy they just lost or destroyed in any way represents true mainstream RC air flight.

Then there are you guys that keep collecting them and spending alot of accumulative dough on amassing a few toys, I look at that and think, well... if you spent the same amount at your LHS or reputable online vendor, you would have something substantial to show for and it ends up being alot more fun and you can do so much more in the air in the process. Sooo..... 2 cents to the side, get into this gig mainstream, you will never look back, not one of you..........
Then there are guys like me. Someone who has taken that long and expensive journey of broken planes, trips to my LHS and a pile of broken junk. I mean don't get me wrong. I don't regret any of it. In fact I love to fly my RC planes whenever I get a chance. Ive owned many planes, and still do. But there's just something about these fly aywhere indestructible, micro RC's tha has got me hooked. They are a BLAST, and just keep getting better. I fly mine all the time and have just as much flying them as I do my LHS bought planes. I own two of these little birds. So I do have around $100.00 invested. But in my opinion it was money well spent and well enjoyed. Lipo equipped, three channel control, indestructiple and cheap!!!...What more could you ask for? Yeah maybe the radios do need a little tweeking. ( My only complaint ). But give it time. Like I said. They just keep getting better.

Park flyer, well said. Now if I could only get mine to work again. Oh yeah, I just have to solder up one more lead.

Sonic, that does indeed look like what I have. I think they will end up either changing the planes name or the picture. The 2 channel silverlit stunt flyer is to good a plane to dump. It's actually is a better plane than the acrobat, remember I have both. I do think this could be an oops, and Target has the rights for the acrobat. The problem I had with the acrobat is that it would not turn. I had to take it to the field I fly my park flyers in. If they come out from Target, I'll be watching for a turn w/o throttle mod. This plane desparately needs one.

Here are a few mods that really gave this plane new life. This first thing I did was expose about one inch of the antenna wire on the tail of the plane as Tim had suggested. ( Thanks Tim ) Next I searched trough my old antenna's and found one that was nearly eghteen inches longer than the stock antenna of the acrobat.Luckily it was the same thread size, and fit the transmitter perfectly. Then I opened up the transmitter and went to work inside. I have seen on other threads that people have been modifying, even replacing the buttons on the board that control the steering and elevation of the plane in order to make up for the inadequite height on the buttons. Hence why the bird felt so dumpy out of the box. The stick barely touched the buttons.

Here is my fix for the problem. I'm not saying it's the best mod. But it has worked rather nicely for me. Basicaly all I did, was cut litte square strips from an elastic band, and trimmed them to about a quarter of an inch in size. Then I simply Used CA to glue the strips on top of the buttons. After the glue dried. I trimmed the corners off the glued elastic strips.( Sorry not shown in pics. But trimming the corners is as easy as cuting them off with a sarp pair of scissors). After that, I removed the throttle spring, put the radio back together, and went flying. I was amazed at how well the plane now performs with my little mods. Thanks to the longer antenna on the radio, and Tims suggestion of exposing the tail end of the antenna on the plane. I now have nearly three times the range I did before the mods. The rubber band mods, make the stick feel solid and definite. I can feel a definite click of the buttons compressing as I apply pressure, and can now turn and elevate at the same time. GREAT IMPROVEMENT over the stock stick. The plane now flies GREAT...!!!!...It responds to my input and the throttle no longer seems to stick. The loops are amazingly tight as are the turns. So if you've given up on this plane???...DON'T..........For just a few penny's and a few moments of your time. You can have this little plane flying out of the palm of your hands...!!

Here's a few pics showing the rubber band mod...Hope it helps you out.

Hi All,

Just an update of my Acrobat, I too fitted a longer aerial to the TX and also exposed the RX wire on the plane all the way to the point where it now exists just below and before the rear actuator, so exposed to about 6 inches I'd guess?

Range is now about 100ft. so not amazing but much better than it was!

I also stuck small pieces of nitro car fuel tube to the four buttons inside the TX right stick, raising their height and so making it much more responsive.

Overall it now is great to fly and stays in the air for good flight times, happy days!

Cheers, Beanie1
