Here is what is on my shelf right now. Forecast is for poor flying conditions. I guess I will have to find a project. Oh, yes those are bombs, but for a bigger plane.

I have not looked at the XP.
So here is where I am on the SuperSu-26, the brushless one I am setting up. Barring weather and other problems, the maiden may be doable this weekend.
I just stripped the old fuse off of the wing I also hacked of the tail feathers with their roots. It turns out that this might have been vital. The wing has a pair of tongues that allow for proper alignment. The previous micros did not have this. So be careful when freeing your wing.
The wing is attached by a version of photo mounting tape.
I am doing a custom paint job. Pics to follow.

OK, here are some opening pics. I will work on extricating the tail feathers and painting them next. The paint is short cutz. The orange is called glow orange and has reflectors in it. I will shoot the bottom later. I also have plans for the cockpit. The second pic shows the alignment bars or tongues.

Here is where I am leaving the SU-26 tonight. The esc is piggy backed and the motor is soldered into it's connection. And the 3020 prop is installed. 3 sentences that encompass a couple of hours of work. I am going to do some thing else now. This is more of an engineering than I thought, and is taking longer than I thought, and I do not want to get the hurry up mindset. At present the motor is soldered to its plug. I need to manufacture a motor mount, and adapt the fuse to take the mount.

Read the manual. Start with "Model select" , add model name then bind and set up the model. Then go to the next model and do the same. You do have different receivers in your different models don't you?
You can store 10 setups on a DX6i. then you just select the model on the tx. In fact, you must select the model or the planes rx will not react to the tx commands.
Get to know you transmitter. It's all in the manual.

the RX is programmed for a bl esc. Look up the 6400 manual. I'm cooking so I can't get it for you.

Sorry Guys, but the 'tronics would not do the same thing twice. So the Micro BL plane is on hold. I will return to this problem later.. In the mean time I not only put on some cool paint and some serious power, everything I did is easily recreated. The Glow Paint, the Hyper batteries, etc. Now maybe I can fly soon.

I love this paint. I didn't get it when I bought it. This is Krylon Short Cutz Glow Orange. If they have other colors, they are not at my Ace.
Here is the trick, a light coat of the glow paint looks different from each angle. Spots looking straight down become a glowing wing at a mixed angle. It is a spritz paint job.

Here are some pics of my brushless conversion. I figured I'd post them up here, I took them yesterday since I was listing the plane on ebay. Used an AP-05 and a TGY 3A ESC from hobby king, GWS6030 prop, and fabricated a disc shaped motor mount from a fiberglass scrap. Also relocated the AR6400 to the trailing edge of the wing and embedded tiny neodymium magnets to attach the canopy. Flies great, but I'm thinning out the fleet and am going to concentrate on the new XP I got so I figured I'd unload this one while it is still in perfect shape, I have four sukhois at this point....

Hi, I just got a few of these new micro airplanes, one being the Sukhoi SU-26. I was just wondering about an experience I am having with all of them though. I usually fly them in local football fields and open grassy areas in the evening. Every time I launch one and start flying it around for a few minutes, a flock of small birds comes out of no where and start flying all around with my plane. It sort of weird because the first time I flew it was in a local grassy area in central alabama and I had a bunch of birds swarming around me when I was flying there. Now that I am away at school on the eastern boarder of alabama, I found a footbal feild to fly at and after a few minutes a bunch of the same type of birds came out and were flying around me again just like before. I dont know what to make of that, but those birds seem to be attracted to these little planes because they keep up with wherever I go. The birds and plane are pretty close to the same size and the plane sort of looks like a bird when its in the air but I dont know why my flying always brings the birds out.
