Hi, I just got a few of these new micro airplanes, one being the Sukhoi SU-26. I was just wondering about an experience I am having with all of them though. I usually fly them in local football fields and open grassy areas in the evening. Every time I launch one and start flying it around for a few minutes, a flock of small birds comes out of no where and start flying all around with my plane. It sort of weird because the first time I flew it was in a local grassy area in central alabama and I had a bunch of birds swarming around me when I was flying there. Now that I am away at school on the eastern boarder of alabama, I found a footbal feild to fly at and after a few minutes a bunch of the same type of birds came out and were flying around me again just like before. I dont know what to make of that, but those birds seem to be attracted to these little planes because they keep up with wherever I go. The birds and plane are pretty close to the same size and the plane sort of looks like a bird when its in the air but I dont know why my flying always brings the birds out.
they love the plane, maybe they think it's sexy
sometimes where I fly SU-26, I get a Sparrow Hawk that comes out and looks at my plane like it wants to kill it [:-]

When certain birds are inspired they will play with planes. And once you figure out their game it's fun. If they send out just one bird, I'll follow/chase him, being careful not to get close, and as I get near the end of my field I will turn and go in a different direction. If the birds are inspired the whole flock will come out to play chase, with both sides taking turns as the chaser. They usually go for a couple of minutes then got back to see if they scared the plane off. Then they send the single bird out and the exercise repeats itself. Remember your plane can do things the birds can't, and that makes them curious I think.

I got my white SU-26 squared away, I think, I am probably a month from prime flying time. It is just windy here.

My head is spinning trying to follow through this thread about the SU26m. No wonder I can't fly this thing worth a darn!

I bought a used PZ SU26m, not knowing it is a dog. What is the consensus regarding improving performance? Should I replace the motor that came with it with the SU26xp motor? Should I change the propeller also? Go with a different motor?

I think the stock SU26x runs great with a Turnigy 160 lipo

New motor and prop and time, shipping, you'd be out....what, Fitty dollars?
New bird's running for a C-note, a Benjamin now.I broke down ordered a UMX BEAST for the same price, but she's for the coffeetable only, she's so freakin' lovely and I'd crash her, sure.
Local Hobby shop or new bird....good flyin', dude!

Is that 5043 better than the P-51/SU-26x prop?

You want a GWS 5043 and a prop adapter, here is where I got mine, http://www.bsdmicrorc.com/index.php?...ID=47&offset=8 I haven't flown a Trojan, so I don't know if it is good to go or not.
