RE: Eflight Ultra micro site 4
srt, apparently PZ has released a second version which has a modified battery tray that is longer which gives more room for working out known issues of the CG on the Sukhoi.
And apparently Tim is finding that the motor may be better. Further testing is in line, I'm sure.

RE: Eflight Ultra micro site 4
Folks,
Some general questions while waiting for everyone to get the micro and start raving about it. I have a first generation Ember (which I believe is not DSM2) and a Hitec Optic 6 which I use to fly a Nutball. Based on some comments in another thread it sounds like Fern likes the Spektrum DX7 over the DXi6. How would the DX7 compare to the Optic 6 with a DSM2 module? If I got an Ember 2 then I could use the transmitter for the Ultra as well (without the programming capabilities, still might be okay).
Also, the only difference between the BNF and the PNP versions of the ultra are the batteries and charger or is there something else?
Thanks

More power, not confirmed by other new SU owners. Maybe Tim received a fluke. We know manufacturing is not consistent.
The CG is not better, just more adjustable. You could say the battery tray is better.

Tim could tell you more about DSM2 modules and their short comings.
I have the DX6i and I love it and haven't had a problem yet.

Import Fan, I flew my dsm2 stuff with a dsm2 module in an optic6 and eclipse7. I think the dx7 is a little faster, but I don't remember having any major issues. I suppose I couldset up one of those radios for the bug and see if there is a noticeable difference. As far as the dx6i vs dx7 the main driving force was extra model memory 20 vs 10, and the misimpression that the body was bigger. I also had horrific luck trying to get a dx6i, and decided that it was not in the cards. I got a brand new dx7 for $180 just a bit more than I was bidding on dx6i's.
Your ember operates on kyosho's 2.4 mghz system.
Su-26 vs p-51 I will test again today, the baro pressure is getting back towards normal. With the aces low pressure created issues, so it's very possible that the mustang just likes more air pressure.

Fern,
Thanks for the reply. Now another semi-related question that I am sure is answered in anther thread but that I cannot find, I just tried to fly my Ember and now have a slow rudder servo. It responds but just lags and seems to be struggling. I disconnected it from the rudder so I know it is not binding. Elevator servo is fine. Can I just replace the servo motor? Where can I get the replacement? Just hit it will some oil or ??
Thanks

Importfan, the kyosho bricks are famous for stripping the little carriers threads. That used to call for drastic measures, now it calls for this, http://www.horizonhobby.com/Products...rodID=EFLH1066 And look what else they have available now, http://www.horizonhobby.com/Products...rodID=EFLH1067 . Very nice. I know that Wheelnut and I flew the Cessna into the ground. I have some hc 138's that would please your Ember, let me know if you want some.
Tuesday is the big day. Fedex has it and it is in Portland. That would mean in Eureka on Monday and to me on Tuesday.

I am getting the BNF. I will have to test the charger, hopefully it is not as abusive as the little ones. But I am stuck on these 150's and 2 is not enough. I sold the last celectra before I listed it, but if it really is reading and charging each battery that will be helpful. My previous charging strategy was based on the hc batteries.
Check the SU-26 thread for the outcome of the last p-51 vs SU-26 race.

Fern,
Thanks for the link to the servos. I hit the servo with some WD-40 last night and it seems to have improved to the point where it should be flyable.
I will email you on the batteries for the Ember.
Thanks again for the info.

I was careful to keep the WD40 off the wing and tail but it seems to have been a short-lived solution. Will remove the servo and see if the contacts are dirty or if I need to replace the servo with a new one.

Importfan, now that you mention it I did have to do that with my MCX. I forgot about that. I used a q-tip with contact cleaner and gave the contact pads and the surface a quick wipe and got all kinds of crud off. The screwheads are japanese or metric phillips. I bought a set of metric phillips screwdrivers at Radio Shack and they have been quite helpful.

RE: Eflight Ultra micro site 4
I did indeed ponder recording, but the plane and I are in the dating stage. Fortunately, she seems not to be a coy sort of plane[X(]. 2 batteries through and though I had an interesting drift, it was all mellow. I am used to having some issue with these little guys. Balance way way off, or problems going inverted, or not enough speed.
The only issue I have with this plane is that it does exactly what it say's it does. Climbing is done at a mellow angle. If I pull back to much I go into a harrier or into a hover pitch. This is what I have to learn. And turning is a 3 axis operation, unless you are into high angle swoops that get ever lower.
I didn't roll it until the second battery, and I still had it a sniff nose heavy, so the roll was not quite perfect. I have not looped it yet, I will hold off until I am more comfortable with the plane and start increasing the values in the TX. Overall this is a marvelous plane for those that want to try out the 3D thing. RePropped it would be a blast for general front yard flying, with the caveat that you must use the rudder.

The plane is a blast. Battery 4 was more 3D. I will see about a new vid after getting comfortable with "Hi Rates"

I have flown 4 flights since the video. This plane is simply amazing. It does exactly what you ask it to. I am slowly increasing my throws.

RE: Eflight Ultra micro site 4
How does the power delivery compare with the Suhkoi SU-26m?
Can it handle wind better?
If you answer YES to any, what in its setup is allowing this?
