E-flite UMX J-3 Cub BNF Basic
These are my videos to date for the new E-flite UMX J-3 Cub. I hope you find them helpful. I did my best to compare it to unbox, fly, and review this plane. I have the videos broken down into what you may want to watch the most. The First is the complete unboxing, maiden flight, and post-flight review. The second is just the maiden flight. The third is just the unboxing and basic review:
Here are my review notes: Pros: - Scale looks - Wide CG range - Smooth gentle flight - Plenty of power - Flies like a bigger more powerful 4-channel Hobbyzone Champ Cons: - Dents and dings to the wing and bottom of fuse were bad - Battery hatch magnet is only taped in. That came loose when tested the CG before the maiden. Hi,
I fly in Brooklyn, NY at a park near the water so it's breezy a lot. I went through a few Carbon Cub SS's as I let them get away from me and they seem to be quite fragile. I have a great time with my Sport Cub S and it carries the Eflite EFC 721 camera that normally comes with the 180QX quadcopter. Being so happy with the Sport Cub S I always wondered what it would be like if I took the Carbon Cub SS electronics and motor and put them in a Sport Cub S. Well, it seems this J-3 Cub is just that without the flaps and lights. The wing struts are mounted way better. The wings are thicker and beefier. My battery mount is so far so good. I have a piece of velcro on it holding the EFC 721 camera from below. Have landed it hard a few times but all is fine. I have been using the 180 mah batteries that came with the Carbon Cubs I beat up. I wonder if it would lift a Mobius with a long enough runway! Anyway, very happy with this little plane. vsk |
