Electric 3d problems
hey all
I have a problem thats really wierd. I had first an Ikarus Shockflyer, then a tensor 4d, and both were lost from the same thing. The Motor. It is an axi 2208/34 running on a 3 cell 640mah lipo. the motor is so strong that its litraly riping out of the plane. On the Shocky, i never even got it in the air. i hooked it all up on the bench and ran the motor up to full. instantly the front was a twisted wreck. on the Tensor, i had three flights, the last of witch was beutiful, until about 7 or 8 minutes into it. i was doing a loop close to the deck, and slamed the stick to full throttel, the motor, once again, riped out and flew a ways from were the reckage came down. it was pitiful to see the plane come down. this was very wierd because i had hit full throttle a couple times before in the flight and it had held up fine. i did a ful throttle climb to about 200 feet, with no problems. very strange. What is the problem here? i had reinforced the fuse with balsa, and it was firmly mounted. i never thought it was possible to have to much power, but apparently it is. any suggestion on how i could better mount or reinforce a new plane? Thanks a lot JAZZkid |
RE: Electric 3d problems
Use thin ply for reinforcement, make sure it is ancored with correct glue. I have used 2mm pins through the motormount and 3-4 cm backwards ancored in slots in the foam and it worked fine on my Shockys.
But: do you balance your props thoroughly??? Never expect a new propellar to be in balance! Unbalanced propellars would just tear a weak foamie apart. |
RE: Electric 3d problems
i dont think i did balance this prop. oops. well, thanks for the tips, ill try it on the next plane.
thanks Jazzkid |
