Storm launcher problem..!!???

I bought a storm launcher 2 hours ago (whit no battery), i said to my self i will save some money and use my lipo from my eflite blade cx 7.4 800mah (i have 3 of them), worked for about 3 min full throttle and then i had to restart the SL every 10 sec... what the problem ? if its a batterie problem , how many time its supose to work (whit the Air hog lipo) and does it reset when lipo is about to get too low (Air hog lipo)?
Thank you

The same thing happened to me. I tried using a 830 mah pack and it would shut off at full throttle. I didn't know if it was the battery or something else was wrong with the SL. I took mine back.

The Blade CX battery is only a 10C battery, and only good for 8 amps continuous. The stock storm Launcher can pull over 10 amps at full throttle. Therefore the Blade CX battery's are not powerful enough to do the job.

The stock storm Launcher battery is a 15C 740 mah, good for about 11 amps. You should get about 5 to 6 minutes of flight time with the stock battery, with some throttle management. Then the LVC will kick in and shut it off. You can restart it again and use low throttle to drive it back to shore, but full throttle will shut it off again till the battery is recharged.

A very popular after market battery for the storm Launcher is the [link=http://2dogrc.com/ecommerce/os/catalog/dualsky-lipoly-battery-p-1967.html]Dualsky 20C 7.4v 730mah[/link]. It is a little lighter and more powerful then the stock battery.

RE: Storm launcher problem..!!???

Hi

I too have the battery problem other members are talking about. Plug in battery press the start button on the controller wait for the props to initialise, run on full throttle for about 4 - 8 seconds then it just cuts out, the back fin still operates, but i get nothing from the props

To start it up again I have to turn off the controller turn it back on, initialise, then i get another 4-8 seconds before it cuts out again, i have also tried taking out the battery pack, it does the same as i explained before

I have an original Storm launcher with original battery

If anyone has any ideas, i just need to get this thing in the air as soon as.....

Thanks

Fortysevenk I would take it back and get a refund. I had that storm launcher and was disapointed[:@] It would fly about 6' and that was it[:o] I had 4 batterys and only got about 4 minutes with each battery if I was lucky:( It lacked power and I took the fan shrouds off but that didn't help[&o] They also mention to take the front bar off due to weight but I just gave up altogether:( I recently got the mini storm launcher and its alot better, has enough power but only get about 5 minutes with each lipo;) I got 2 mini launchers and one flew great the other would barely get off the ground, go figure:eek: So I took one back to the store and kept one. The only thing missing on the mini is lipos. It would rock with a bigger battery and more time in the air. Heli007
