Sheldon,

I use medium CA to attach the carbon fiber.

Best of luck with the build.

Thanks for the info. Maybe I will see you in New Mexico this year at the Alamogordo pattern contest.

Jeff, I would love to take a shot at building a modern 2M plane from scratch! I'm just not an ARF guy and cutting parts after work for a week is my idea of a good time...

If you're still sending cad files my email is: [email protected]

I was planning to hold off on building a full 2M but I'm pretty pumped after going through this thread!

thanks.

Jeff,

Thanks for for the quick response! It's a great looking plane.

I've been wanting to build a modern pattern plane for a while now... I've become uninterested in 3D after spending some time learning rolling circles. Way more fun flying style. Maybe I'll make 2 of these... Something in the 60" range, and then one full-size. I saw someone else post a 62" version that seemed nice. I'm just getting tired of flying only F3P style foamies and I want something that track in a breeze. 5 to 16 oz planes are fun, but I'm ready for something different.

Again, thanks for sharing your work and making it possible for a scratch-builder to try a pattern plane without having to reinvent the wheel in the first shot.

Pablo.

Hi,
my first contest after almost 3 years of absence from F3A-circus.
Thanks Jeff, my Lightning is a competitive plane. But the pilot has to do lot of training.

Looking for the dimension from hole to hole in the firewall to mount the firewall onto the fuse build jig.
I assume it is the same as the Hacker C50 (and C54) front motor mount hole spacing; but I can't seem to find info on those dimensions on the 'net.

I don't have the dimensions on hand, but the jig bolt spacing was matched to the motor mount. The F1 holes on the plans are based on the Budd mount.

Hi Jeff,

could I get a copy of your Lightning in cad format please ? At the present I am not fan of the sparks motors but the four stroke glows, and I am planning to install a YS under the cowl.

My e-mail is [email protected]

Thanks,
Javier L.
