It would be tough to make a truly practical electric version of the P-7. You could certainly come up with a power package that would fly it well. Even keeping the stock landing gear length. But what to do with the batteries? Unless you completely re-engineered it you'd have to pull the wing every flight to get the packs in and out. I have a couple of models that I converted to electric a while back that I have to do that. It gets to be a pain pretty quickly.

I love flying electric. 95% of my stuff is electric. But I sure do enjoy hearing the .60NX wind up in a run to the next maneuver!

I have an unbuilt Arrow 61, which is a project for the future to be electric.
The removeable turtle deck, which was originally to gain access to the pipe, is perfect for a 6s pack, I plan to use the same Hacker that powers my Angle50. But the prop size will need some looking into, as the prop clearance will be the big issue, and if it does not have tri-gear retracts then that would be the deal breaker as far as my project goes. But at my current rate of finishing current projects goes, it is still a couple of years off.

If one could be made to fit a 6S pack through a top hatch then I think an electric P7 would be pretty hot.

Hi,

For the future ofnew kits or ARF's of old classic pattern planes I think it is a good idea to offer them both as glow and electric. Like the new ARFCurare by Hanno Prettner that has options for both types of engines
