New Contra Design: Adverrun

My Feedback: (3)

Just saw the Adverrun is now for sale at f3alorenz (who I believe does ship to the USA with no issues) in both 82mm and 85mm spinner sizes? (still working on translation)
http://www.f3alorenz.de/zb-motoren/c...tro-contra.htm
At the current exchange rates, $1200 (no props) and $1350 (Mejzlik props)

I realized that I have not posted anything here for a while. Mainly because me and Robert have been quite busy keeping up with the demand. Yes Adverrun is available through Lorenz and us. We did ship first drives to the US. There is a Hacker and a Kontronik version with Spinner sizes in 82mm and 85mm.
The main thing we changed has been around optics using anodized parts which looks quite nice. I'm attaching a picture of that.
As wear has been a concern in an earlier post: The first drives have crossed 500 flights now. No single belt or gear had to be changed so far.

The gear is front mounted (typically on rubber mounts) and has a rear support. The slotted holes for that are visible in the pictures on the rear carbon fiber plate,
The Motor itself does not require a rear support. We use a ball bearing in the front carbon fiber plate to provide the necessary support for the motor via the motor shaft

I'm happy to share that I finally managed to create a homepage. http://www.adverrun.com Feel free to check it out.
We also partnered with Hacker who will also be distributing the Hacker version of the drive. We are currently in the last steps to complete the first batch of drives.

We now sell the new Falcon Contra props. The front prop is bored out to 10MM to fit other units than the CRP Brenner system.
An 8mm to 10MM insert is provided if needed so it can fit all the units.

Thanks, Mike Mueller

Dear all,
we've continued to advance our design and changed and improved a few things. With ~550g incl. Spinner we've reduced weight significantly. Despite the weight savings it still runs very cold.
Besides this the most significant change was the single nut mount for the rear prop. A few pics of one of the prototypes are shown below. Some more are on https://www.facebook.com/adverrun/
We have been flying those since the beginning of the year. My consumption is in the 2700 - 3000mAh range for P 17. Robert uses some 200mAh more.

Hi All,
Has anyone used a Futaba MC 9100A ESC with the Kontronic Adverrun ? I am curious that only the Jeti Mezon 90 lite is mentioned in regard to the Adverrun.
If anyone has successfully used the Futaba ESC in this application could they post any observations and settings please.
Cheers Dambuster.

My Allure is complete ready and well tested in the meantime.
Now with reinforced gear plate and two add. ribs inside the canopy, autmatical connectors (MPX green) between wings and fuselage and well proven in the meantime.(The new series have a sufficiently strong chassis plate).
Inside very clean without visible cables and with my innovative battery mounting-system.
Flightweight now with Hacker Top Fuel 4150mAh WC Edition ( exactly 900 grams over all) : 4790 grams.
The Adverrun contra with the Hacker A 50 10L Turnado V3 is a "Powerbear"; max. Amps in flight with Mejzlik 22x20/ 22x22 contraprop 78 Amps! Never more then 3000 mAh for P15 at storm; typical 2750 mAh at normal conditions.
And this with tons of power! With a max. throttle point at 60 % (with fixed point at full throttle 1,98 ms at the controller Hacker Mezon 99 light with BEC)., there is no problem in a large upper headwind radius to speed. ( max. BEC Amps in flight were 3,5 Amp. with 2x Futaba 551 at ailerons, 2x Futaba BLS 173 at elevator and 1x BLS 471 at rudder)
The Mejzlik props 22x18 / 22x20 are also good, but the 22x20/22x22 give me at this drive set the optimzed power feeling at each wind condition incl. storm! And the motor is only slightly warm.
All what I could say about the Allure is WOW!
The Allure feels in the air with all advantages of monoplanes and biplanes together!
You promised not too much, Bryan!
It´s the best F3A plane I ever have flown. (and this were a lot!)
It´s sooooo good, that I decide to buy for myself an add. Allure as backup model for this and the next season.
More praise I can not pronounce!!
I like this model with it´s outstanding look and performance.

You can find them below:
Store Finder | BDI USA (bdiexpress.com)
Optibelt USA - Manufacturer of V-Belts, Timing Belts, Ribbed Belts
Also, I use the Gates-PG 3GT belt with good results. They are commonly available in various widths or can be cut down to size.

Some gorgeous looking CR power units above, but looking heavy as a bricks. I'm curious how do you guys measure RPM's with CR props??? What happens when you place the normal hand held meter to check RPM?
While on the subject, I'm desperatly searching to buy CR power unit for my micro light Pattern models, I like to get a hand on discontinued produkt, "Dualsky XM2203TY-24CR" to power my latest "DC" creation to match its parra. New or S/H, any one with one to sell? TX, Frosty.

Looking for CR one to power these for outdoor action.

After further search I have managed to get hands on 3 units all the way from EU, sitting on someone's shelfs for the last 7 years or so, LOL.

26 grams each power unit including 10x3 Carbon/F props.
