Couldnt resist fitting to the fuz!

What are you planning on incidence and washout values?

I'll probably start at +0.5° on the wing and zero on the tail. Maybe a smidge of down thrust.
I wasnt aware of f3a models using washout?

Pace has slowed a little bit, also i dropped my phone in the sink so lost a load of photos. These are all i have of the wings.
I think they've turned out pretty good, happy with the overall weight of them both but 1 is about 20g heavier than the other, not sure how that happened! They're 225g and 245g ready to cover.

Got all the buildling done now, started covering. Nearly finished the fuz, bit more silver and white to go on. I know black isnt the best for visibilty but with orange being the predominant colour, hopefully it will be ok

It's ll about contrast. Most "dark" colors turn black anyway at a distance so black will be fine.

Any updates? I am interested in seeing the finished product and hearing how it flies.

Hi,
First congratiolations to the win.
What is the final ready to fly weight including LiPo in use? How large LiPo is in use - 5000 mAh?
Can You list all the equipment You use in the plane?
When You are happy with everything with Your plane and You think it needs no modifications (for some reason) it would probably be valuable to offer the plans to others interested building Your plane, or perhaps send the drawing to a laser cutter to have a possibility to a short kit. It is not that many builders F3A planes out there. It is so nice to see people construct and build their own F3A planes.
Good luck with the plane and I hope You and your Myvec plane will continue to perform well in future contests.

/Bo

Thanks everyone, sorry for being a bit slow updating!
So yes, its flown! Very very happy with the way its going. It goes where i point it. Cant say much more than that! I've trimmed it gravity neutral, i.e trimmed it to fly a vertical down line hands off, then added a smidge of down thrust (it may have had a bit of built in up thrust) to fly a vertical upline hands off. This does mean holding a bit of up while up right and vice versa. I prefer this method.
I did try a more conventional trimming method to begin with but couldnt get it to work and made the rolls a bit barrelly.
This biggest thing i've changed from the original design is loosing the canaliser. It made the rudder too powerful and sensitive. It was hard to do a roll without climbing from the rudder input. Its just nicer without and still gets through the F no problem.
I dont think F19 is a rudder heavy as the F17

Another thing im really happy about is the contra set up. The twin motor setup is perfect. If you are a regular contra user and then got one of these, i'm pretty sure you wouldnt go back. Offers all the advantages of a contra, with none of the 'practical' drawbacks.
Like zero maintence. No gearbox, belts or cogs to worry about. No greasing. Its great.

Weight is about 4750g with turnigy 5000mah lipos, so a bit of head room for bigger lipos if i had to.

There isnt really anything i would change regarding the layout, just a few bits building wise. Strengthen here, lighten there, extra former etc.

As for anyone who would like to build it, they are welcome to the files, i'm not looking at kitting it, not really sure theres a market for it but you never know. Im sure if someone flew it at the worlds and won i could sell a few 🤣

Hi Workers,
I'd love a copy of the files, at your convenience. My email follows. I'd be happy to contribute to the 'research and development', too if you have a PayPal account.
Regards,
Will
