The Andes looks like it has some Zonda ancestry.

Interesting about Akiba; after 30 years of having others kit his designs (MK, WingCraft) he is finally doing it himself. I'm always interested in the Japanese wood pattern kits; a pleasure to build and fly!

I wonder if this means he wonít be working with BJ Craft any longer. BJCraft offered the Fantasistas (70, 120 and 2m) along with the Passion Bipe which were all Akiba designs I think.

The Andes Bip is, basicaly, the bip version of the Zonda mono with some mods on th fuce. No wing stunts. I think, Mariano Gostanian the designer, will be competing at the US NATS with it, Really nice looking bip. I have a Zonda and am considering getting one of this bip
.

If Akiba does what Naruke does, then I expect he will still work with BJ Craft. Naruke produces kits, ARCs and turnkey versions of his designs (priced accordingly), but you can also get them from Oxai (or whoever makes them now) for a bit less $$$, but not the handcrafted masterpieces that Naruke produces.

Yup...I like it too!

Not sure about the missing wing struts, others have not had them. Not sure how the wings react in flight without them, may be just fine?

If I can't get an Allure Bip. in a GP, I'll pull the trigger on this one.

Wing struts aren't really needed when the wings are mounted to the fuselage top and bottom; no different than a monoplane. Also, no need for the additional side area as the large fuselage provides plenty of that. I'm sure both designs fly very well. I'd like an Ascent biplane, myself, because I can get it as an all wood kit; lots of building and a bit slower to get in the air.

Accordung to this YT video, the glow version will be released first (and soon) in a painted version
The electric version will follow sometime later but in all white due to weight concerns?

About 6:20 into the video

All 3 of the airplanes mentioned so far look really good. I however really like the way my Divergent design flies. Still sorting it out a bit but showing it has the potential to be a winner.

No problems without struts. I personally like the "no strut" look.

I have always though that painted in the mould is the lightest way to go. Hand painting can be tricky for weight if not careful.

The paint on my Xareltoo was 134 grams for the fuse, cowl, canopy and belly pan with 2K clear coat.

We had the Nats last week. Mariano and a host of fliers from South America were in attendance.
They all flew extremely well.
The Andes bipe garnered a lot of attention and I can tell you that sales are great so far.
At this time the planes are being directly shipped from Argentina for the time being. I have them producing enough planes to meet demands.
They are up for sale now:

Pictures are from the Nats. Marcelo and Mariano pictured together.
Thanks for your support.

I didn't think there would be, it was just an observation as it's a departure from the norm. I like the Xareltoo and the Sensation, no time to build with being on the road so much.

I've been wanting for an ARF Bipe without full flying stabs that I like, so I guess the Andes is it, even though it's EP.

Does anyone have any flight video of the Andes?

Thanks,

Found some additional photos of the Akiba Accel, it looks like itís fitted with his Contra Drive as well.
I think I like this a bit more than the Super Passion biplane from Akiba.
