Updated Akiba biplane Super Passion Alpha
#1

Akiba has updated his Super Passion biplane (which succeeded his original Passion biplane)
Its the Super Passion Alpha and is now in his website and the Morris Hobby website
スーパーパッション

Pictures show a BJCraft decal on the tail so perhaps like the previous 2 versions, this one will also be offered as an ARF from BJCraft

Google translation in the "changes" section lists * The main wing is a completely reversing wing * ......any thoughts on what that translation means?

My Feedback: (6)

I am still flying the original Passion version I acquired in a trade. I use to test new equipment and sequences. It does most things very well. I have found the flying stab to not be an issue. After updating the controller to the D3 with the Plettenberg 30/10 combined with the draggy airframe design, airspeed is extremely easy to manage. I consider the original Passion version a competitive AMA design. To fly the current F3A sequences would require a pilot with greater skill than I possess to fly thru the roll and pitch coupling that occurs when large rudder amounts are applied.
An updated Super Passion Alpha would be nice to consider if BJ Craft produced it and F3AU imports it for US consumers providing the design changes eliminated or greatly minimized the rudder induced roll and pitch coupling.
