i just finished flight trimming my new 2,50m raven with electric power, and i am pretty impressed. the plane is from www.fly-fan.sk
with steve neu's BAM 2215/1,5 Y with 1:6,7 gear turning an apc 26x15, castle phx 110HV with new 1.23 software with dynamic breaking
set at 10%, TP2100 configured as 4 packs, each as 5S2P4200, 2 paralell and 2 serial, so 10S4P8400 in total. main reason for this set-up is the new, cheap 5S-charger with direct balancing from hyperion, as per picture. power consumption at full blast on the ground is exactly 100A, static thrust about 40 lbs, tow a tad less than 20 lbs. torques at 50% power, unlimited vertical performance. flying time is at least 12 minutes of mixed aerobatics, after which i normally charge about 3300 mAh. it's hard to have more fun with 10 cents worth of AC out of your household socket...!

hi chad
in case something breaks and i have to open the cowl, i'll do that...but i had such a hard time setting that flimsy thin damn carbon spinner untill it finally stopped vibrrrrrrating, i won't touch it if i don't have to...engine mount is pretty straight forward, 4mm 6-plywood sides, front mount and rear support, four 8mm carbon tubes added the corners for psychological reason. the packs are in that big foam block pictured with the chargers, located about 20 cm ahead of the c/g. maybe i have to change to a more "airy" design in summer...! right now, i have trouble getting the packs warm even if i pre-fry them on the seat heating of my audi while driving to the field! cheers

I didn't know that... looking forward to seeing that as well. Does anybody have a picture of the BAM? Relative to the geared Hacker C50 series, how big is it?
Very Very cool guys... hope it warms up for you soon so you can wring that thing out!
