viva_peru,
Using a 15X7 APC. I've really been quite pleased with the performance of this set-up. We've even ran it through the Master's sequence and it's still got plenty of battery left. The plane had to be pushed pretty hard through a couple points in the sequence, but it still made it with no problems. There are a lot of motor options when you get to the 10 lb. range in pattern flight. I think for the money, and the fact that I'm just beginning in pattern, this set-up is hard to beat. This little motor is a sleeper......

Nixed,
Thank you for the information. I ran the numbers and you are right, with the prop and batteries you are using the motor seems to be within its current limits. You are running at about 1400 watts which is a little more than it is meant for. I guess that the AXI 4130/16 is the little engine that could. Puts the motor in a new perspective, since I thought about it as a motor for a 6-7lb aerobatic plane, not a 9-10 lb aerobatic plane.
Good luck,
Teo

Now that a full summer of flying has passed, I'm wondering if there are any updates on these e-conversions. How have they worked out for you? Would you do anything differently, knowing what you know now?

I used the E-Flite Power 110 motor, Castle HV 85 ESC, and Rhino 8S 4900 batteries.
It's not 2M but it flies better than my Focus 1 ever did.

I've seen and flown Dave's E conversion Focus Sport. That thing is a ROCKET SHIP.
