I had 4 flights today and got most of the throws sorted out. I needed less rudder throw for normal correction on low rates, so I increased the expo and that will also solve some cross coupling with the elevator. I set the CG very slightly nose heavy. With that I can now start to mix her out.
I got the THROTTLE-ELE mix witn a 2% DOWN ELE when at LOW and MAX throttle. That got the downlines and uplines much nicer.
Then next were the KE mixes, I had to add 15% of LEFT AIL for RIGHT RUD and 15% of RIGHT AIL for LEFT RUD.
With that done she will happily KE and even KE loop with ease. There is minimal coupling on KE for the ELE but I don't think I need to mix that out. I can either shift the CG or just manually correct her.
I find that the Ms Wind will KE loop easier than the Angel despite using the DualSky 4260 of which has less power than the Hyperion 4025. Its 15x7 versus a 16x10 yet the Ms Wind does it with ease. Now that she has been trimmed and mixed out its time to put her through her paces and see how well I can fly. This baby is unforgiving.

Well I promised myself I wont buy any more "small" f3a planes but got a good offer and it's very hard to resist this one.
I'm sure this plane is great for sportflying, but has anyone flown a p-09 or f-07 schedule with it and can comment on how it behaved? And has anyone measured the wing incidences an knows how much they are at?
Tianci, a 15% aileron mix sounds like alot! Are you flying Ke at very high angles and slowly?

Radek ... I know its quite a bit. Its not a high alpha KE, just average. I need to get more flights in first, am still nervous. However, I am not sure if this if affecting it but I am only able to trim on 2 ailerons, the JR9X is not the best for bipes. So again that might be the cause for a 15% mix or perhaps that shows my wing is ever so slightly warped? Let me get more flights in on a calm morning. Been too busy with the Wind S and its been raining quite a bit here.
Enjoy her!!!

Enjoy her!!!

Radek ... my 9X is already about 5 years old, so might wanna get a new radio by January, either the 12X or the 12Z. I like the feel of the Futaba. Weather looks great tonight, clear skies. Batts are all charged!

tIANci, the twelves are indeed very nice. I use a futaba 10c And haven't checked yet if I can use 4 aileron servos. But I'm sure I can use a Y-cable as a worst case scenario. Since the hs-5065 servos are programmable I could always fix the subtrim by programming the center.
Have fun tonight! Oh and please try this for me. When flying level at cruise speed, give a little rudder and see what happens. With the shape of the fuselage I'm curious to know how much it dives in a situation like that.

Radek ... I looked through the 10C, no bipe set up unlike the 12FG. But am unsure about the mixing and if it carried the trim to the other 2 channels. I have tried turning with rudder only. She does not pitch down that much. The rudder seems to be very effective. Its not all that huge but its effective. So far I have flown the Angel S and the Ms Wind, both seem to have good rudder authority.
Tomorrow is the maiden for the WindS ... may take the Ms Wind along if not its my trusty GP Big Stick!

tIANci, there is no dedicated bipe setup but seems to be no problem using 4 aileron servos. [link=http://www.2.4gigahertz.com/faq/faq-10c-2_4ghz-q682.html]4 Aileron servo setup[/link]
If you are interested in the 10c I can test this to see if the mixing of a rudder is tranferred to all 4 ailerons.

Radek ... had 2 flights today, yeah, when I use the KE mix, its only on 2 ailerons and not 4. I think I will probably go with the 12FG, I need to spoil myself.

Guys,
Just ordered one of these today. Can someone let me know which aileron servos work best in this model? What is everyone using. Are the Hitec HS65MG the best way to go?
JR have a superb servo in the DS368 but it is about twice the price of the HS65MG.
Thanks,
Mark

Mark ... I am using the HS65HB, my pal is using the digital ones. I have no quarrel with the HB. I doubt it will break its gears as the control surfaces are small. Centering is decent, don't feel any blow back. If you want to spoil yourself then why not some nice digitals?

No, it wasn't. It didn't work so I went to their website and copied the original address and changed this in the post. Try it again, it should work now.

Just found these. 4.6kg micro digital servo for $20. Surely a perfect candidate for the ailerons?! Haven't heard a bad thing about Savox yet....
