What I find curious about this plane that on the Sebart site it is not listed as a pattern ship but as "regular" 50 class model. One more thing that has caught my eye is the wing area, 62dm2 for Wind and 45,8dm2 for Angel

Is Wind 50 a true pattern ship? Hm ...

Does it matter? I bet Sebart will sell a load of these to people who will never fly competition pattern just because it is a good looking great flying model. I just checked the wing against the Angel wing and it is only slightly bigger, the Wind is also heavier than the Angel 50.

Well if the data is correct it has a very similar wing surface area to Wind 110 which is 30%-50% more heavy. I have no doubt it flies good, just will probably be more sensitive in windy conditions. I look at it now more as an all around plane that can do everything but no doubt that Angel will be better in pure pattern and SU29 in freestyle. Well, only someone who has flown all 3 can really tell, this is just theory

I do suffer from Sebarthitis and currently have 2 Sebart planes in my fleet

The wing is substantially smaller than the 110, the fuse is more close in size.

Hans thank you for this photo. I really do doubt that the data on sebart site regarding the wing area of Wind 50 is correct. Actually it gives 58dm2 for Wind110 and 62dm2 for Wind 50.
Can you also make one more photo please to show the thickness of the wing?

Inoticed the wing area figure on the website too, and think it's incorrect. If you look at the data in the PDF linked from the same page, the wing area is listed as a much more realistic 52 dm2.
Hans, what are you using for servos?

Velco, these are the wings. 110 4,5cm thick, 50 4cm thick

Rick, I was using Futaba 9151 on ruder and aileron and Futaba 9601 on elevator.
These servo's were leftovers so no reason other than that to choose for these.
The standard size servo's are too high to fit nicely in the wing.
Used a BEC for the first time on 6s (Hacker Spin 66). On the 10th flight I lost control.
Expect the controller or BEC overheated. Wings survived and could be used for these photo's
The 110 I just bought as a replacement for the 50. Was very happy with the 50 and should have bought a second one but curiosity drew me to the 110.
We will see.

This is how it looked when it still was in one piece.
Sprayed the cockpit for better visuality. The blue of the cockpit tends to disappear.
And I love TCans

Hans sorry for the loss and thank you again for the photos. The data on sebart site is definitively wrong.
btw I am hearing also on other forums people having overheating problem with small Jeti Spin and hacker Spin if the brake is turned on.
I was hoping to maiden my Wind 110 tomorrow but unfortunately just few minor things still left to do. Well, I will have to again enjoy my Ms Wind 50

will be interesting to hear your comments how Wind 50 and 110 compare.
cheers

I see a Turnigy sticker on your Wind 50 are you running a Turnigy motor? if so which one and how was it, I have a Turnigy SK5065-380Kv / 85 amp Turnigy controller for mine, this setup is about 60grams / 2 ounces heavier than the recommended Hacker setup. I wanted to experiment with a cheap motor / ESC combo to see how long it lasts.
$90 for the set shipped to UK.

Hi John,
I have been in doubt for a long time in the selection of the motor. Turnigy (the 270 Kv version on 8s), a Hacker C50-..L on 8s or a Hacker C50-14XL on 10s with spin 99. I did choose for the last option, my spare drive-set for the Gaudius, my competition model.

I fly my Wind 110 on 6S, I suspect it would not have enough power / duration for a current F3A schedule in windy conditions though it flies just fine in relatively calm air. I may give 8S a try at some stage

Harris-G: BEWARE THE JETI 77!!
I used one on my Wind 110e and lost it due to thermal out! This ESC does NOT intialize until you go to full throttle for a few seconds. Until then, HALF throttle is FULL THROTTLE. I burnt up a lot of planes and motors before I discovered this undocumented feature.
To solve this problem, I always go to full throttle for 4 seconds after TO. Then you are fine. I will never buy a JETI again.

How did you do that to the canopy? It looks like you sprayed silver behind the blue. I was thinking of getting one of these and that really looks nice.
