Futaba BLS servos in F3A

Hello,

I am slowly deciding on the equipment for my next project, Sickle, and I have it all sorted out except for the servos. I am leaning towards Futaba brushless series but I have some doubts:

- would BLS 153 be enough or is BLS 551 the way to go on the ailerons?
- which one is the real successor of the mighty 9650, the BLS 153 (as Futaba claims) or the BLS 651, or shall I stick with the 9650 on the horizontal stabs?
- would BLS 252 be enough or really BLS 352 is needed on the vertical?

I know that in theory BLS is much better, has it really matured enough also in the servos? The price difference between regular and BLS is not that big not to take it into consideration.

Any thougths?

thanks

I have all BLS servos in my spark. They are working extremely well. For my plane I'm running 551's on the aileron,
153's on the elevator, and a 352 on the rudder!! It's a perfect combo

Same here, all Brushless Futaba's, it's as good as it gets. I wouldn't use anything else.

I have used the BLS153 on ailerons with no issues. Mind you i used to use the 9650's

Pretty sure the BLS651 was intended for the car guys, it has the side mounting tabs and the centering is not quite the same, don't quote me on that just something i remember reading

BLS352 looks intended for 1/8 scale trucks, BLS 252 was intended for heli's. What difference in the servo design i don't know. Maybe different dead band etc

I use the BLS155 on rudder with no issues at all, massive over kill. In theory the servos should last longer, no commutator or brushes to wear out. I am thinking they would have better centering, not like 3/5 pole motors on traditional servos.

I suppose at the end it's what works for you

Are they compatibile with JR- Spektrum receivers at regolated 6v?

I dont see any reason why they should not be compatible with Spektrum receivers (the ones I have). If someone has different info please post!

If you look at the specs they are all rated also for 6V operation.

Yes they work with Spektrum receivers, I have not tested them myself with Spektrum stuff but have a few friends that are running this setup and have no reported problems.
