No, that is the MK. That is the only thing I changed. It has the same tail wheel that is sent with the Wind series planes and I much prefer the MK setup. The supplied one will work, but I'm just partial to the MK stuff.

Just put the graphics on it...really makes it stand out. Since I have a vinyl cutter, I cut my own Vinyl graphics in the same font as Extreme Flight. Really brings the plane to life. Will post pictures tomorrow once its outside.

Oh I do that too for my ESCs and batteries. Sometimes I use a cable tie with that method. I was talking more about other items where it isn't so convenient to wrap a tie around the item...even wires. I've become a hot glue nut these days. Ya just take whatever component you want, put it where you want and glue it down. It's no good for things you are removing on a regular basis but it's great for things you want nailed down into tight places.

I've used shoe goo the same way for years. Gives a little. Need to let it set over night but it will come off by rubbing.

That wing tube isn't heavy, but who cares, your AUW is nice and comfortably within limits, so shouldn't be a problem. I was asking since the fuse is on the heavy side, but apparently that's not an issue. The wings and stabs are nice on par, weightwise.

7 hours build time, 650 dollar, and I'm sure it'll fly good, so you can't go wrong. You could probably win 150 grams by just replacing the spinner, prop, gear and wheelpants.

You are right, the wing tube isn't overly heavy, but its much heavier than a PBG. The wing tube is the same thickness as the one that comes with the Wind, so is not light, but there are other places to save weight if someone really wanted, but with everything stock its still under weight, so who cares. Everything fits, so it goes together VERY quickly.

Anyway, here is what everyone has been waiting on. Flight report.

The plane flies very nice. Very smooth and constant speed. The power is very good with the stock Torque motor. It's not equal to my Neu motor setup, but I didn't expect it to me. The plane will do a vertical snap and keep on trucking. It is drawing about 76 amps with the 21X14APC and has very good power. Cooling is good as the motor wasn't overly hot and the batteries weren't even really warm. Right now the only mix I have on the plane is a 2% downline mix. Knife edge flights looks very good, but the wind was blowing so it might need a little once I get a calm day. Currently the wing is a .5+ with the stab at 0. CG is about 1/4" in front of where the book recommends. I was only able to get 2 flights on it today as we had some storms rolling in, but initial impressions are very good. Rudder authority is good, but not exceptional. Part of that is due to the fact I only have a 200oz torque servo on the rudder and I set this plane up to be able to easily fly the AMA patterns and it will do that with no problems. Lands VERY nicely. Anyone who wants this to just get in the air quick and fly will not be disappointed. On the second flight I passed it to a fellow club member and he was very happy. He doesn't even fly pattern, but I think he is going to get one anyway as he just liked how it flies. The color scheme is very vibrant and easy to see in the sky. I flew it through most of the AMA Masters pattern and had no issues. I'm going to play with rates a little as it snaps a little deeper than I like, but that is a rate thing. Stops very clean and the same with spins.

Overall, incredible value for the money.

The double control horns are nice, but WAY overkill for this bird. They use similar hardware to their larger birds as its their standard, but not necessary for pattern. Still no issues making weight.

Is the wing and stab incidence adjustable? If so, ditch the downline mix (=evil) and lower your wing incidence to 0.25 or something like that.

I know it's easy to put mixers in your transmitter, but am a firm believer you should first try to fix it mechanically.. it's more work, but you'll end up with a better flying plane.

The downside to a downline mix is knife edge in non-powered situations. Normally, you'd fly a knife edge with some power on, if you fly them level. So at that point you won't have the downline mixer kicking in, and you'll trim or mix it so that it tracks straight then.

Then you go fly a programme like P11, in which there is a 45 degree downline with 4pts roll. To keep constant speed, you'll fly this at engine idle (at least the first k/e part), so the downline mix will kick in, leaving your plane pull to belly on both knife-edge phases.

Since in your pictures you have a WindS standing next to it, how does it compare from your perspective?

Yes, the wings and stabs are both adjustable. I do plan to play with the adjusters, but had to leave due to the weather. I will play with them later this week.

I saw a bunch of guys drooling over Victors in Convington this weekend, I was one of them.

We deemed this air plane the new "Focus" of the pattern world.

Looks to be well built, finish was above expectations, those that got to fly it loved it. I wasn't one of those because I didn't get in the line. I was watching it being flown. It presents well and looks good in the air and the paint scheme is very vis-able in bad sky. The hardware supplied with the kit was top notch and the tail wheel is fine but, like Arch, I prefer the MK. There is a flat long enough on the bottom of the rear of the fuse for the MK tail wheel to mount flat.

It's on my list of wants, high on the list.

Glad to see your thread. I know it is intended for E-power but is there room under it for tuned pipe? Is there a cowl for the powerplant? All weights look good.

What does the ESC weigh? Trying to determine amount of weight going in the nose.

There are no provisions for a pipe. The entire bottom of the fuse is foam sheeted, starting behind the chin cowl. I'm sure if someone wanted to modify it, it could be done. There is a chin cowl so you could get to the motor area easily if needed.

I will have to weigh my ESC unless someone else has a Castle HV 80 ICE weight handy,

It depends on what you do with cabling. The way it comes out of the box, it weighs around 115 grams. The above mentioned weight is without cables.

CC uses very thick cabling, so you can win quite a lot of weight by shortening the leads, especially the ones to the engine.

Including cables, and so on, my CC ICE HV 80 weighs about 75 grams. I almost completely removed the cabling on engine side, and soldered the engine wires to the about 2cm left. Didn't use connectors.

I really think any sort of an IC motor will beat the hell out of this airframe. It's not designed to be able to handle the vibration of a glow/gas engine.
