6S + 4S =10S ????
 

Has anyone used a 6Cell Lipo and a 4cell lipo to make up a 10 S lipo battery for pattern flying? I want to use 6S in my heli and 10 S in my planes. Will this work to save some money.? Is it efficient power delivery?

Yup, it'll work just fine. I never buy packs larger than 4S; you lose too much if one cell goes bad. The two packs should be of the same capacity and "C" rating, otherwise you will be governed by the lesser of the two.

Yes I do it too, works great as stated before just make sure the mah is the same and the C rate is the same.

A lot of people combined the Rhino 4900 in this way. If you combine the 4S & 6S you save weight compared to 2x5S.

I now buy only 3S and 5S X 5000 mah packs. I then fly my 6S, 8S, and 10S planes with different combinations of these two packs.

Does plane balance out OK? the plane may roll quicker on to the side with 6s?
