Composite Visa Wings
This past week I just received my new Visa all composite wings (eliptical shape). They are phenomenal. The quality of the construction, the finish, everything. I am really really pleased with the wings. I wondered how they would match up with the fuse that I've had since last season......well, I slide the wings onto the fuse and they fit PERFECTLY. Absolutely no modifications were necessary. The construction provides for a very solid, stiff wing. The leading edge is reinforced with triangular stock to prevent any separation at the seam. The spars really add strength without adding significant weight. My composite wing weighs the same as my foam and balsa wing, and Chip has indicated that since mine was made, they have taken another 20-30 grams out of each aileron.
Chip and I have been flying the plane with the new wing all weekend and really have it dialed in great. The performance in the wind is spectacular. The plane snaps great, etc. No trim adjustments were necessary. A half-percent of mix is all that was necessary to trim for knife edge. I think they've really got a great product here. I am hoping to get out flying in the next day or so and will take pictures to post here. By the way, wait until you see Chip's new planes for the Worlds, they are gorgeous. We are practicing hard here for the Worlds and the Nats. We've flown about 40 flights each over the past 4-5 days. Looking forward to seeing everyone later this month! |

LOL I never even noticed it. Mike turned it when I wasnt looking and then turned it back. I'll get him back it was pretty dumb to do it when I still have 3 weeks at his house. lol
