Hope you have better luck with Nitromodels than I did. I would not use them when better dealers and products are out there.
My 2 cents.

It still has those basic control horns for a plane that costs $550?
How much was BJ's Monolog 110?
Looks ok. Wish the canopy area was taller. Adjustable H stab angle is what I've thought of doing about 10 years ago with BeatOn 90.
CMP improved a lot, but still lacks on quality. A local guy had firewall area broke out on a 50 size mustang. Not strong enough firewall. Not easy to repair either.

Anyone doing a review for K-Factor?

I wondered the same thing about the price. The plane looks very nice, but I can get a BJ Craft Monolog 110 for quite a bit less ($245 right now) from F3AUnlimited: http://www.f3aunlimited.com/webstore...roducts_id=533

In defence of the Leo it does have an adjustable stab and independant elevator servos. Where as the BJ has only one elevator servo and no adjustments from what I saw, not to mention the weird landing gear.

And the hardware is something I swap out reguardless. I like using Sullivan stainless control horns on my pattern planes with Dubro clevises and Hanger 9 titanium links.

Ordered one...see how it looks when it arrives ??

Flyer88,
Please, take a lot of pictures. I would like to see pictures of firewall area, inside of fuselage and if possible inside of fuselage tail section.
If you are an NSRCA member, I woukd recommend a building progress article.

PatternFlyer,

It appears that the NitroPlanes warehouse is located in southern California. There should be no problem shipping to you in the United States (Pittsburg, Kansas). Flyer88 is located in Canada (Calgary, Alberta) which may explain the international shipping restriction. Of course, I could be wrong on all of this. Maybe someone else has a better explanation.

RE: CP Leo V2 F3A 110

tewalker01,

yes, I know. Most online stores with at least a few years in business MUST know if the box is too large to ship to Canada by certain shipping method.

Nitro Planes / X Heli / Hobby Partz etc must tell the customers before order is placed.
Common method is adding a single line saying "Oversize box, international shipping is not possible."
Order processing system should also have the item as oversize categorized for each specific item.
Thus, when the customer specifies non-US address, it should show a message about not being able to process the order.

Telling the customer after the order was placed, it a dumb idea. I've had several online orders being cancelled similar way.

No, I will not deal with companies like that.

RE: CP Leo V2 F3A 110

I got mine back in early Nov. for 330. The model now has 6+ flights, crappy midwest weather. The build was pretty much by the book except for the tail wheel hardware was a joke and since I used a heavier motor I installed a battery tray, which the manual made no mention of. I also added wing adjusters and it is true that the horizontal is adjustable.

The model flies great and lands like a dream but I am still trimming it. The problem spot has been the landing gear. The left wheel seems to like to leaving the model after takeoff, this is despite having a bit of thread locker on it so I will rework those later. The mounts for the carbon fiber landing gear are sorta weak and I cracked one but my simple mod appears to have strengthened it enough. None of the carbon fiber gear holes are drilled out and I wasn't expecting that. The canopy, while it has, what appears to be an OK latching mechanism, it flew off the model in flight. My thinking is their must be an enough flex in the fuselage to allow it to pop off so I tape it for now.

Still trimming...but I am enjoying it.

Hey Kevin you still flying the Leo? How has it held up?\

Robert

Kevin Cox 08-17-2013 06:26 AM

Hi Robert,

Yes, the Leo is flying fine. I currently have my 8S 5000mah pack as far aft as it will go (to the spar tube) and will be changing from a 16x10 to a 17x10 APC. For sport flying it is a dream. I tried some 'Sportsman' flying (first time) in our club contest and the wind was brutal. My only complaint is that I wanted a little more power...hence the prop change.

kingconsulting 08-17-2013 08:27 AM

Yeah need to get something larger to compete with. My 47" Osiris has taught me a lot but I need something larger for the sportsman category. Was looking at this or the larger Osiris.

Kevin Cox 08-17-2013 03:12 PM

Also look at the Monolog. I might have gotten this if I knew it was available at the time I got the Leo V2
http://www.rcuniverse.com/forum/rc-p...-2012-a-2.html

kingconsulting 08-17-2013 03:36 PM

Yeah that is on my list too. Sebart also but actually been thinking hard about this one. Price is good right now too. I'm scratch building from plans a full 2m one but that is going to take a while to complete and want something larger to practice and compete with without breaking the bank.

mups53 08-19-2013 12:41 PM

We will have plenty of the Wind 110 Pro's in stock in about one month. This is really popular in the lower classes.

Thanks Mike but I'm thinking I will be getting the Monolog 110. At least that is my thinking at the moment :)

tewalker01 08-20-2013 11:51 AM

Kevin,

What motor / ESC combination are you using in your Leo?

mups53 08-20-2013 03:17 PM

Tewalker the perfect combo is a Hacker A50 16L on an 18x12 with a castle 100 esc or a Spin77 esc.
We are thru with testing of a very similar plane we plan to introduce soon. It's the same size and we are testing this very successfully on an 8S 4200 35C pack. Mike
