Cut cooling slots in CF Spinner

I have acquired a new Carbon Fiber spinner and would like to cut cooling slots in the spinner section and the backplate.
Anyone out there know how to do this or can give me idea on how to?

Thank you

Here are two examples:

I would measure and mark, cut with a dremel cut-off wheel, and finish by hand with sandpaper, probably glued to a small dowel. Then balance.

OK guys, completed the project-cut two slots in the spinner. Came out very nice, almost pro looking, a little clearcoat should enhance it a bit more.
Balancing is another matter. It is not easy to balance a spinner, considerably more time taking than balancing a prop.
I have tried several times and still cannot balance the spinner to my satisfaction-still have a heavy side. Right now, it is going to stay like that until I get some force to try again.

Could stick some duck tape on the lighter side to balance it out. A small piece is all it takes.

maybe try small peices of tape to get it to balance then remove material 180deg opposite. may also try balancing it in 2 planes.
dont know if it will help but page 16 of the Bolly Book http://www.bolly.com.au/1998%20Bolly%20Book%20v3.pdf outlines some advanced propeller balancing techniques that may be applied to the spinner

I never thought about adding some tape. Great idea. I'll try that. I have been using CA with micro-ballons. Difficult to do.

Thanks

Are you balancing the back plate separately? I would think removing material in the back plate with a drill would be the way to go there. For the cone, well I use scotch tape on the back of my prop tips and it works really well.

I have been balancing both the backplate and spinner separately. However, I believe they should be balanced as a unit. The problem is if you have to change props, -start all over again?
