Updated Akiba biplane Super Passion Alpha
Akiba has updated his Super Passion biplane (which succeeded his original Passion biplane)
Its the Super Passion Alpha and is now in his website and the Morris Hobby website スーパーパッション https://morris-hobby.securesite.jp/82_1666.html Pictures show a BJCraft decal on the tail so perhaps like the previous 2 versions, this one will also be offered as an ARF from BJCraft |
Google translation in the "changes" section lists * The main wing is a completely reversing wing * ......any thoughts on what that translation means?

Not much more info on his site but if you look to the upper right, there is a better pic showing the wings.....very swept and narrow which seems to be in vogue since the last WC.

I am still flying the original Passion version I acquired in a trade. I use to test new equipment and sequences. It does most things very well. I have found the flying stab to not be an issue. After updating the controller to the D3 with the Plettenberg 30/10 combined with the draggy airframe design, airspeed is extremely easy to manage. I consider the original Passion version a competitive AMA design. To fly the current F3A sequences would require a pilot with greater skill than I possess to fly thru the roll and pitch coupling that occurs when large rudder amounts are applied.
An updated Super Passion Alpha would be nice to consider if BJ Craft produced it and F3AU imports it for US consumers providing the design changes eliminated or greatly minimized the rudder induced roll and pitch coupling. https://cimg8.ibsrv.net/gimg/www.rcu...8887435523.jpg https://cimg9.ibsrv.net/gimg/www.rcu...64c4eb5fbc.jpg https://cimg0.ibsrv.net/gimg/www.rcu...9a5f761e24.jpg https://cimg1.ibsrv.net/gimg/www.rcu...a80eabfc63.jpg |
Thank you for the pictures.
It looks like it shares the 電og tooth leading edges from the Super Fantasista It looks like this plane might replace both the Super Passion and the Accel |
Guys if interested we have a new shipment of BJ Craft models due here in a couple of weeks and we have the New Super Passion Alpha's available.
