E-Pattern RX battery

Hello to all,

I just wanted to say that since I went the electric route I consistently put between 70 to 90 mAh back into my RX battery. That is with 4 digital servos (2x Hitec 5625, 2x Hitec 5245) on my Eclipse. I switched from a 1500 mAh (about 60g) lipo battery to a smaller 700 mAh (about 30g), and I'm sure it will last more than enough time. I purchased a Graupner Lipo Charger 4 and I'm very happy with it. I could go lower, say, to a 450 mAh, but does it bring any benefit?

What RX battery size do you fly?

Regards
-Fabrizio

I am using the 730 pack. My Impact meets the weigh limit and the Hacker has the power. I don't plan to go lower.

I am using a Thunder Power 860 7.4V. I can get 8 to 10 flights no problem

I run a ubec, don't have to worry about the extra charging.

I use 700 mAh E-tec, Jaccio 5,7V regulator.
I typically put back 35-45 mAh per flight.
5 digital JR servos.

It is probably possible to use an even smaller pack (e.g. 450 mAh) but I think that the weight reduction would be insignificant. (about 12 grams.)

Uh.. forgot to mention that I use a 5.5V Voltage regulator from Alewings.it (Alessandro Torri).
Will stick to the 700 mAh based on your experience (and thought I was flying a 1500 5-cell NiCd on my older design Topline, weight ~ 100g... How things change...
Thanks for the feedback, very appreciated!

Flightpower 2S 1050 mAHr with Duralite 5.5v regulator, 5 JR digitals and 70-90 mAHr/flight. Magne you aren't moving the sticks enough! When are you going to come and fly electric F3A with Steve Burgess and me?

Malcolm.
I have found that the less I stir the sticks, the better the plane goes.;)

Can't argue with that!

Todd,

Which regulator are you using?

All 3 of my Impacts are 730 2-cell Thunder Powers with Shulman Aviation 6V Regulators. After 6 flights I've used about 300 mAh.
