e-wheels

Since I had good luck in finding a nice plane cradle, I figured I'd try again. Anyone know where to get good durable wheels for a 2m plane? I have a set of Tettra's with plastic hub but can't find them anywhere. The al versions are heavier and the tires always fall off of them. I hate the dave brown wheels. Anyone know if there is a good supply of Tettra's or MK's anywhere??? Or, are folks using something else for their lightweight solutions??

You can try the Hobby Lobby LYT wheels...

Steve,

I use the Tettra's with the plastic hubs, they are available at Central. I don't see them on the website but make a phone call they have them. The plastic hub version lasts a pretty long time.

The small ones 55mm are pretty light and I've had good luck with them off pavement. There are lighter options but I always wore them out pretty fast.

Only problem with the Hobby Lobby LYT wheels is that you can't leave the plane stored on its wheels. They will develop a flat spot that dosen't come completely out. Otherwise they are among the lightest out there.

I'll call Central too. I wanted the plastic Tettra's but didn't see them on the website.

Thanks

Heck I have that flat spotting problem with my Tettras too... now I store my planes hanging down instead. Besides, with the batteries out of the fuselage the weight is reasonably light...

The flat spotting is worse than with other wheels I have used. it dosen't take long either

I took Troy's suggestion and called Central. They had the plastic hub Tettras so I got a set of those too. I have both the LYT's and the Tettras on order now, so I'll see which I like best.

Heck Derek, your flat spots are from sliding down the runway sideways, not how it is stored

That's because we fly in a 90 degree x-wind most of the time. :D
