Another procurement question
Well,
I'm two for two now of finding good stuff by asking this esteemed group. Here's my next questions: 1) Anyone running a CF spinner? Do you see much if any weight savings? If so, who sells a decent one. 2) Anyone using the 8mm prop shaft adapter on the Axi instead of the larger original one? Seems to offer a bit of weight savings. |
RE: Another procurement question
1. Cf spinners are not easy to find in the 3" sizes. Most are for bigger IMAC planes. Yes, you can save weight but really the Axi does not like the airflow into the motor blocked by a spinner. I ended up taking my spinner off. Internal temps of the motor windings with spinner were 145+ degrees and without a spinner (just a prop nut) they are 120 degrees.
2. Several of us are using the 8mm adapter with no issues |
RE: Another procurement question
Try www.espritmodels.com
they have inexpensive carbon and fiberglass spinners for electrics in many sizes. Good luck |
