RE: Mini Scalar
Well that didn't take long at all.
Thanks for the expertise there wvr!! Do you know anything aout the habits of the plane? DM |
RE: Mini Scalar
Hi again
I have seen this plane fly in the time where NiCad and brushed motor where used. With 16 NiCad cells the plane flew very good and had enough power for good aerobatics only not enough capacity for a 10 minute program. Nowadays when using Lipo/Brushless you will have a great flying plane for training precision aerobatics and compete up to the higher classes. The design is not comparable with todays high fuselages and will have difficulty flying knive-edge loops , rolling-loops and all the other complex sequences which exist in the current F3A programs. Cheers Winfried |

Cheers Winfried It sounds like the perfect plane for me! :) While it isn't the "latested and greatest" in design, It also doesn't have the price tags that follow with a highly competetive airframe. Do you know if the company exports to the US? I really want one, and I have a friend who asked about it on another forum. He will definatelr get one as well. Thanks for the link to Jon's site Henning. That is where I "stole" the pics. He does a nice job building and I created a file for some of his planes that he has shared... just to help with motivation for trying to build as nice as his work. :D DM |

RE: Mini Scalar
The Mini-Scalar flies very well but lacks the ability to perform rolling loops properly, even when overpowered. It just lacks some side-area, it's very compact.
PAF exports anywhere but it takes some weeks as the kits are made to order apparently. It crashed during emergency landing on saturday, the power cable disconnected during flight. Full report and pictures will be posted on my blog this week. |
