Europa S Pro

Hi all,
Just got my newest Europa S Pro electric version in Candy colours. This plane is designed to accept both EP or GP power. As you can see in the EP verions the fire wall is missing to allow air through the air ducts. the trailing edge if flat, with the wing slightly narrower at the root and the tip than the previous version for better snaps. The fuse is wider and the canopy more forward for easier battery access. this plane can accomodate both the C50 setup (stock) or the now popular Q80 with additional nose reinforcement. I will use the C50 13xl, Jeti Spin 99, Futaba servos, 21x13W prop. nothing special but hope you guys like it |

RE: Europa S Pro
What is the flying weight? Which batteries (weight)?
Woodie |
RE: Europa S Pro
I am very far from done and havent estimated the weight, but others have have come out with abt 4900 with zippies.

Very good airframe !! and good weight! |
RE: Europa S Pro
hi guys,
what are the advantages of having a 3 point motor mount over a 4 point setup. the 3 point setup is becoming more and more popular but it seems that it is more difficult to adjust the thrust angles. alex |

Made some progress with the motor mount, just need to go and buy some micro baloons to glue in the rear support.
also waiting for hardware to make the linkages, for some reason the internet shop has not got the payment for 2 weeks now. Alex |

Today i am almost done, weight the plane and made a pesemistic weight calculation.
all up weight should be about 4850g with zippy 5000. didnt focus wight saving just used what i had with good results. with a tiny bit of effort beive that you can run a Q80 and have all up weight under 4900. |
RE: Europa S Pro
well i finaly maidened her.
the all up weight is 3580g which is pretty good cos can use any batteries. the flight charecteristics were pretty good, compared to the old plane it sits more solid in the air and has much more rudder authority. stall turns are easy at low throws and integrations require half the rudder throw the previous version does. snaps are alot better due to the bigger ailerons and reduced wing area. despite the higher wing loading the plane feel very light in the air. it is strange to notice that the knife edge coupling is to the canopy, but this can be a result of forward CG. upline and down lines also pulled to the canopy which is a good thing and improving one will inprove all of them. couldnt roll straight because i was giving too much rudder where it was not needed and def need to adjust the diff as have a top hinged aileron. was testing the plane with all surfaces at 0 so should be able to able to fix most tendancies with positive wing and down thrust as well as manipulating the cg. over all i am a happy camper. alex |
RE: Europa S Pro
got the new zippy 5000 packs today. very pleased that they all arrived in tact.
battery weights as follows Old Flight power f3a packs 1200g new Flight power f3a packs 1150g Zippy 5000 25c backs 1240g with all the wires. i do think that cutting the extra wire and loosing the connectors will be another 20-30 grams less with the guage we have on the port packs. weight is not an issue for this model any way but i will have an issue with the cg is the backs are overly heavy. thinking of swaping for a carbon prop to counter this though. alex |
