Texas Electric Challange
Texas Unlimited Electric Challenge
Propose:
To investigate the feasibility of Giant Scale “Electric” Racing. To identify the cost, likely airframes, and potential speeds attainable.
Venue:
The Texas Nationals, Hearne, TX. June 10-12 2011. To be run on Saturday and Sunday during the lunch break.
The challenge:
Navigate an electric powered giant scale racer around the established USRA race course for 6 laps and produce the quickest time around the course. We are also looking for the fastest time between pylons.
Limitations:
Power plant: There will be no limits on the power plant to be used.
Airframes: Approved USRA scale airframes (unlimited,F1, Biplane,AT-6, Experimental, Thompson trophy) and 1/5 scale war birds(piston powered only). All airframes must pass a standard USRA technical inspection. There will be no minimum weight requirements. AMA maximums will be enforced.
Prizes:
Quickest 6 laps: TBD
Fasted speed between pylons: TBD
Breaking world record: TBD
