I used two ESCs. One is used for the main motor, and another one is used for the tail motor. Depending on what type of the main motor you have the ESC should carry more than enough current for that motor. I used GWS ESC 10A for the original motor, and 2A for the tail. However, if you have a mixer, then you don't need any ESC because the mixer has ESCs built-in. Look at this photo for more clairification. Hope this helps.

What are the advantages of going separate? i mean, I am not going brushless or anything, so whats the point?

when something goes wrong- you can narrow it down to one part- and replace... ends up being alot cheaper in the long run- and you end up with much better equipment... I would say that if your heli doesnt have seperates.. hold out = untill something goes and you cant figure out what it is....

I agreed with scimitar. More than that the all-in-one board is hard to find, especially, the Feda Dragonfly. However, all-in-one board is small and easy to be fitted near the center mass where is the best place for gyro.
