New Hobby Lobby Electric Heli
Check out this heli I have ordered one and have flown it about 5 times. I was very impressed with what you get for the price. It even has a cord to connect the tx with your computer and flight sim software. This heli is a little smaller that the T-Rex but bigger that the blade and i would recommend this as a step up from a Blade.

RE: New Hobby Lobby Electric Heli
Hi Esi,
I've been watching this heli also. I do like what I've seen so far.
I ordered one the other day and it looks like there's about a three week backorder on them.
The word seems to be getting out on it, a few users here have one now.
Glad to hear that you are happy with it so far.
How does it look as far as durability goes?
Did you have to do much for initial setup with yours?
Thanks for the info/ Happy Flyin

That was the best part. It came with everything installed and ready to fly out of the box. First flight was "right on" just a few clicks of trim on the tail rotor. Gyro holds good.
It also comes with training gear.
Lipo battery and a wall charger
I just hope they can provide enough parts to support the end users.
I ordered my from a mailer I get from hobby lobby back in April and received it two weeks ago, but they did not have them on their web site.
Hope you enjoy yours.

I'm sure I will ...
I feel like a kid waiting for Christmas...
The parts at HL look reasonably priced, I too hope they keep their stock up so we don't have long down times ... only time will tell.
I plan on spending quite a few hours on the flight sim before doing much flying, wish they'd send the TX and cable ahead so I could get going.
I'm sure we'll be seeing more on the Falcon in the months ahead ... so far everyone seems pretty darn impressed for the price.
It's quite a lot more expensive in Europe, seems to be in the $4-500 range there.
Happy Landing,
Dave

Wow I can't believe this, its a RTF chinese SHOGUN V1 complete with hollow main shaft. I guess now its just being direct marketed by the guys that REALLy made the Shogun in the first place.

I was looking more at the value of this heli. I know that this may be a copy but to get Brushless motor, lipo battery with wall charger, 6 CH tx, ESC, GYRO, training gear and the ability to connect it to your computer with the supplied training cord and software is a deal for $299 and it flys well. This is in the same price range as a Blade CP.

RE: New Hobby Lobby Electric Heli
Hi guys
My first post here Jono from South Africa.
I'm a huge chopper fan, been flying sims for years (and the ocasional joystick time in the real thing on certain film shoot i've done).
I only recently realised that the prices on RC have become reasonable.
I run an Visual Effects house so I'm looking into rigging up my cameras for those flybys and over head shots.
(so i can write this all off to tax
Anyway I'm obviously not buying top of the range my first time round, although I plan a fast progression, so I'm thinking this Falcon would be a good started for someone who already has the hand eye co-ord and chopper knowledge.
From the guys who have first hand experience please can you give some info. Thanks!
To those who don't, shut up! :P

RE: New Hobby Lobby Electric Heli
If you want a stable camera platform it will need to be larger then the falcon or blade cp. But as a starter helis they're great, You can get video from this small of a helicopter. It will carry a small camera and transmitter however it will be shaky and full of interference. The larger the chopper the larger the camera and dampener can be. I’ve seen sum decent footage from a t-rex.
But even it was a bit shaky. If you do cg effects and you want to match a cg camera move
to a falcons camera move I know from exp that it will take sum hard work. What size camera do you plan on using?
Do you do physical or cg Effects. If cg do you use mia, max, or a proprietary software pack?
This is a link to sum aerial video and products.
