E-flite Brushless ESC: Does it work for helis?
Hi, I'm new to RC heli electronics. I'm waiting for the delivery of an E-flite 40A BL ESC ordered online. Does this ESC work for electric helis? I intend to use it for my MX450.

most definately! a brushless ESC is a brushless ESC no matter what! as long as it can handle 6pole+ outrunners it'll do fine! you may need to get a new motor however... (align's 430L) but sure it'll work!

Thank you guys for the assurance. I was thinking the ESC was designed for planes only because all the posts I've read about it were airplane apps. I don't like hard starts.

ahh, I forgot about that, yes it will work but if it doesn't have soft start you can destroy your gears... I'd suggest spinning up the blades by hand before adding power.
