Are they the same?
 

The Aerohawk, Cupid, Dragon, Piccolo all look suspicuously like chinese clones. Are they the same or am I imagining things.

If they are not the same, what would be the best quality/trouble-free electric helo? I see a lot of threads about problems with the Aerohawk.

I'm new to electric heli's (and heli's in general...). Played a bit with the ECO Piccolo, but now doing some research before buying. Looking for suggestions: Piccolo, Century, ???

Also, I would like to be able to upgrade to CP.

Other than small cosmetic differences the Century Hummingbird, Feda Dragonfly, Colco Thunderbird & Jabo are the same. All the parts are interchangeble between them. I haven't seen a Cupid so I can't say. I don't think the Aerohawk is the same. The Piccolo isn't a clone and judging by it's price it's of a higher build quality.
As for problems they all suffer from the usual ones. Mostly it's down to blade balance both main and tail & getting them setup correctly.
I think the worst problem with them is the appalling instructions that come with them. Lucky for us we've got this forum to give us all the info we'll ever need!!;)
Whatever you decide to go with you're the one who has to learn to fly it. Which is best is a question thats asked every week. In my opinion the best heli is the one you've been struggling with for ages that suddenly goes into a stable hover and actually obeys your commands. It's one of those never to be forgotten moments.:D

The difference between a Hummingbird II and Dragonfly D5 are:
The Hummingbird has a 370 main motor extra tail supports and fin.
The D5 has a standard 280 main motor. It has all in one electronics (ESC, receiver and giro one one board)
All the parts that fit on one will fit the other.
In deciding which one to choose, you need to look at the whole package. Often the Dragonfly is available with lots of extras at a lower price than the Hummingbird. Don't forget the same basic design comes under various names some cheaper than others.
Personally I'd go for the cheapest option with the best included extras and then upgrade the motors etc as they wear out.
