which stick is supposed to do what?

Hello:
I bought a used smarttech skylark, so it was already assembled, but I am confused about the function of each stick in the control, I think it may be wrong.
Right now, the right stick controls throttle (up and down) and lateral inclination of swash plate (left/right)
The left stick controls tail rotor (right and left) and forward/backward on the swash plate.
From real helis I know the swash plate should all be controlled by one stick.
Which is the normal convention? I've been told that the throttle and tail rotor control are usually on the left, and the swash plate on the right. is that true? if so, how do I fix my control/heli to reflect those control settings?

RE: which stick is supposed to do what?

Most "American" Pilots use the following transmitter configuration..

Left Stick Up Down: Throttle / collective Pitch -Controls the altitude of the Heli
Left Stick Left Right: Tail Rotor - Swings the tail left and right
Right Stick Up Down: Forward/Back Cyclic (Elevator) - Tilts Heli forward and backward
Right Stick Left Right: Right/Left Cyclic (Aileron) - Tilts Heli to the left and right

Enjoy!
