What is your powersource?
I've been looking at some lithium batteries, they are pretty new to me as i have always used Ni-Cad and NiMh. I went to a website that sells Li chargers and LiPo cells, but am a bit baffled because of the range of cells? I am buying them for a dragonfly.
What powersource are you lot using? (and no smartarses need come up with a steampowered heli:D ) Cheers Crash |
RE: What is your powersource?
I am having 20 minutes+ with the Kokam 1500 2s, 7.4v They work extremely well. You will need a lithium pollimer charger.

RE: What is your powersource?
[:-]I am baffled by this too I have a corona with an atomic force motor and a phoenix 35 ecs so what voltage do I need? What about the amperage? Most of the websites with litho for sale don’t mention amps just volts so does that mean I shouldn’t worry about it? I want something with good power and long flight time (yea I know I want it all) I really want to use lithium because eventually I will be switching to a brush less set up so I want to purchase only one charger and get longer flight time with my brushed motor any one got any advice for me?[&:]

RE: What is your powersource?
u suggest you get a battery from lightflightrc.com. they list their voltage and current and cell count for every battery.

RE: What is your powersource?
Thanks for the info chaps.
About the charger, do I need a Lithium 'Polimer' charger specifically. Or just a Lithium charger? stupid question possibly, but am still confused :) |
RE: What is your powersource?
You will need a lithium charger that will charge the voltage of your pack, For example some lithium ion chargers charge a single cell that is 3.6 volts. But a lithium pollimer cell is 3.7 volts. At the end of the day, Lithium ion cargers are very similar to lithium pollimer chargers. I am using the swallow charger that costs about 120 AUS. It does both, along with being able to charge nicads, Nmh and PB!
