Heard alot about swash ball mods and collars - anyone know where I purchase these mods for aerohawk? - or alternaltively how to do a DIY version.

thanks. Have heard that helihobby have gone a bit pear shaped though for ordering parts particularly to UK.

Calling all other aerohawk users - how many of you have done the swash ball mod and is it worth doing? - or not as the case may be.

Also, just in the process of replacing main drive shaft with the Smartech steel replacement shaft. This is held in place with a cir-clip rather than the rubber sleeving. However noticed that main drive wheel now has alot of play - in fact can wobble around on shaft. Anyone else had this problem?. Possible fixes seem to be to glueing wheel to shaft whilst held at 90 degrees or add a small washer to take out the slight play (between circlip and top shaft bearing) ?.

I tried, and ****ed up the swashplate, i got glue on the ball, my bad. after strugeling with it i got it to run smothly for about 4 times, the the swashplate came apart, so i bougt a new 80$ swashplate from helihobyy.com.

My Aerohawk has gone into the ground too many times now, so i ordered a airwolf hummingbird, whitout elektroniks. waited 2 weeks now, have'nt got it. thay are not replay'ing my e-mails. The last time i ordered was in december and i got the parts in about 8 days. i live in norway, they are in California or somthing.

you have to be very careful with the swashball mod its very tricky, but is worth doing.

khmoe, noticed you upped your gearing a bit how does the motor handle it and what about flight time?

with my 3 cell lipo i got around 25-30min of flyning, but after 2 run's the motor did not like it, now it last 10min and the motor is overheated. I do not think it is smart 2 fly so long, because the magnets in the motor should not get too hot. Because they will lose there magnetisme, and require more power to lift i think.

But the 2 stimes i had a long flight time, the heli zoomed pass me inn greate speed :) that was fun.

Whaiting fr my airworl with 370 motor, hope it will handle a 3cell lipo.

You should have no problem with 3c lipo on the 370 motor, I run one in mine.

But I would advise heatsinks.:)

So you guys are running 3c's on the standard hawk board?

Or have you upgrade the mainboard.

I want to go 3c with my heli and cut the blades right down to up the revs.

Ive seen fixed pitch done this way and it flew 10x better with that setup but he was running after market gyro etc.

I have the upgraded the IC to the main motor, did not take the chance of frying the board. But it depends on the motor, how much it will draw. orginal chip holds 8Amps, the new one i have can handel 16Amps. The chip i ordered from an electonic parts store was. IRF7456 HEXFET SO-8

mines all standard on the board apart from heatsinks.Im running a HBll 370 motor on it and it seems ok so far.
