RCU Forums - Mini Dragonfly ?

I bought one a month ago and have been having fun with it. Read the various posts on basic issues because there are a lot of good tips: a) Training gear is good if you have no experience. b) make sure everything is tight on your heli. I had a few bits come lose after a couple of flights (main motor, paddles), c) tighten up the rotors moderately, so they move, but not too easily, which helps w vibrations, and make sure they are slightly forward of center when you start up d) start slow.... I flew it in my den for a couple weeks just practicing to hover. e) rest it when the motors get hot -- don't overhead them f) Make sure you can control it before you take it outside and fly it around. The first time I took it out I had it flying great, but gave it the wrong input and crashed it from pretty high up and broke several parts off of it. It's not worth pushing the envelope. Better to get really good at controlling it before you take it high because it will hit the ground pretty hard and blow apart if you screw the pooch from tree top height. Takes a lot of tinkering to keep it flying, but its fun. Couldn't fly it hardly at all for the first couple sessions, but then..you just get it in terms of input needed to keep it controlled.
