set-up help with hb2
I recently bought a hb2 off e-bay used, with no manual. Some background on me-I've been flying glow and gas for 20 years and finally sold everything, flew 3d,pattern,giant scale ect. Got back into the hobby after a few years off and went electric. Been doing the park-flier (planes)thing and have enjoyed it so far, (after discovering brushless motors!!). I had a glow heli about 6 years ago,it was a century-hawk II, wasnt real successful with it, got the hover down and some nose-in flight, but after scattering it several times @ about 125.00 a crash,I sold it.
Ok to the HB. Like I said I have no manual, it will run-up (1500 3-cell lipo)but has no collective (up),just sits there.....screaming at me. I'm sure it has something to do with the 3d switch, but I cant figure it out. With the 3d switch activated it has pleanty of down pitch, but that ain't what I need!! I've stumbled onto some up pitch once or twice, but loose it and cant figure it out. Can someone help me out here???? Thanks, Jimbo |
RE: set-up help with hb2
Try this, once the ESC is armed (LED solid green) try moving the throttle trim to full up. If I'm using the Esky TX my HB2 won't lift unless I crank the trim. Anymore I just use my Futaba 7CHP with the HB2. That way I can mess around with the throttle and pitch curves.
Also, I've read a few posts where folks have said that the 1500mah li-po's are a bit heavy for the HB2, but that's just hearsay. I'm using 1200mah li-po's and it fly's great! |
RE: set-up help with hb2
check the swash plate, make sure it didnt seperate in half, the plate pushes upward for negative pitch, so this is probaby why you still have goood negative, but for positive it is pulled down by the servos ,

RE: set-up help with hb2
What do you mean when you say the swashplate has seperated?
I have HB2. |
