Electrical question
Two questions.
I am going to use a brushless tail motor and am getting a phoenix 10 for it. The motor itself says that it has a 2-3A max current. Am I headed for disaster on this? Also, can I run the brushless tail motor with a brushed main motor? Obviously I'll need a brushed ESC, but aside from that, is there any issues? I've heard that the brushless motors run on AC, does the ESC convert the DC current to AC? |
RE: Electrical question
The 10 amp max CC P10 will treat your motor just fine. If the motor is allowed to spin under normal load, the amps will never get over the 3 amp max the motor wants. If you overload the motor with a large prop or the wron gearing, then you might damage the motor.
Go with what works for other people. A brushless tail and a brushed main will work fine, so long as you have a brushless ESC for the tail and a brushed ESC for the main. I don't worry about AC or pulsed DC. If the motor has 3 wires, hook a brushless ESC to it. |
